I'm about to take delivery of on 08 Armada LE, but can't say that I'm crazy about the chrome grille. I've searched the forums but didn't find much. 2 quick questions:

1) Does anyone know the Nissan part number for the smoke painted front grille for the 08 Armada SE?

2) Anyone out there with a relatively new smoke 08 SE want to "upgrade" to a new chrome grille in exchange for the factory SE smoke grille? (Northern NJ)

Just call the stealership (parts dept) and ask them. If you have to tell them that you want to order one from them and that you will actually place the order when you get the money. Btw, it's funny how you put upgrade in parethesis. lol

If I am not mistaken, the 08 Mada's don't come with the chrome grill any more. I might be mistaken, but I have seen quite a few 08 LE and SE with the matching color paint grill. I stand corrected, they come with the chrome grill, I checked the website. You can not get the color matching grill on the LE model, it is not an option, and vice versa.

What I'm interesting in knowing is the factory part number for the SE grill from a parts dept. Say for example if an SE was in a front end collision and needed the grill replaced. I'd consider buying that part and doing the replacement. I'm looking for the part number to get an idea of cost and installation steps.

Apparently, the Chrome is viewed by Nissan as being luxurious. It does nothing for me, so again, if there's someone out there with a mint 2008 Smoke Armada SE who would be interested in a grille swap with the new and improved, never been better, special, TOTALLY AWESOME, HIGH END, mint LE CHROME GRILLE (which I hate :o) and you're in Northern NJ, I might be game...

I would also trade up my 08' chrome grill for a Black SE grill. DFW Area here.

Courtesy Parts seems to have one but it's better to make sure it fits on 2008 even though the web says 2004-2008.

MSRP $492.86, would sell to me for $356.64. Wouldn't give me the part number on the phone.

It comes PRIMERED, not painted so you need to tack paint cost onto that, which brings me back to the swap with someone who wants to upgrade option.... smoke.

I have been trying to do the same thing since I got my smoke LE in June...The stupid grille retails for about $430...you could buy it for about $350 shipped...too much money IMO.

PLan "B"...I took off the grille assembly and the chrome piece comes off the actual grille...it's really easy to take it off...there are no screws...you will need a screw driver to pry them out. The chrome I was told will come off if you let it sit in bleach for a few good hours...then you could have it painted for about $60-80.

PLan "C"---ask the dealer to swap it with an SE model...most people love chrome.

I will be executing plab "B" soon...good luck!

I don't like the chrome, but getting rid of it isn't worth $300+ to me...

Please let us know (with pix and details of bleach mixture ratio, etc) how plan B goes. Sounds like a great option.

I tried plan C at purchase, but was surprisingly shot down.

Plan B sounds great. As long as you can still prime and paint it!
