andy 05-23-2005, 02:21 AM I've been running my tires at 35psi for a couple months. I've noticed that the middle of the tire is wearing out pretty fast. Faster than the outside treads. Is this happening to you guys too? I think the recommended pressure is 32psi. scr38 05-23-2005, 11:53 AM Wear in the center of the tread is due to overinflation. However I have been running 36 psi on my Armada with the 18" Contis and I haven't seen any uneven wear. chrisarmada 06-01-2005, 01:10 AM I run 36 PSI for the last 1000 miles and have noticed center wear. I was running 32 but I do not like the mushy handling and squeeling tires. I think a little center wear is a necessary evil. But not so bad, I got 20 mpg on the highway this week end, (72 mph in a strong 40mph crosswind, some hills, some fast canyon, mostly flat near Julian, CA - Salton Sea. - Palm Springs). before I made this change I would get about 16-18 MPG (LA to Mamouth with a 60+ mph crosswind). | ||
