There is a class action lawsuit in Texas and BC, Canada against Nissan for odometers overstating the actual mileage. This effects anyone who has had to pay for mileage when turning in a leaswd vehicle or anyone who had to pay for repairs outside of warranty due to mileage. I beleive it effects all 2004-2007 Nissans.

Really,,,tell us more.

How did you come to this information? What is the rate of overstating? Is it 1 mile driven 1.1 miles counted on the clock?

This is interesting. Would this also reflect in the gas mileage? I try to keep an eye on mileage, not having the tech package, I reset the trip odometer and then get my mileage, would this glitch also effect that as well?

I saw this on the Vancouver news. Honda just settled a class action. They had to offer free extend warranties on over 6 million cars. The claim for Nissan say various models over stated the odo by 2.5-4.00%. There's a link to the statement of claim from Canada below.

I wonder if this is the reason why milage doesnt match between the odometer and the Nav milage?

Unfortunately, if this is true it means we are not getting as good mpg as we think. yikes, I didn't think it could get worse...

Aint this a Behaaaatch!

Then what about those of us with 22s-26s? Mileage is already a little off from that. Now this BS!:pullout:

If your outside Tire Diameter is larger than OEM tires, then it counteracts this mishap. It's only compounded if you put smaller than OEM tires on. ;)

For me, this means that my Odo is probably fairly accurate now with the larger tires. :D

When a Class-Action is won, the refunds are split out between ALL customers affected regardless of if our name is on the case or not. They'll be required to notify us to let us know we need to contact them for our refund. If it is settled, I'll be getting 2. :D

I have always noticed that the speed showing on my Garmin nav is about two miles per hour slower than the Nissan guage when cruising at 75. This could help to explain it.
