Don't worry guys, my dealer has both in the showroom!!

Well I have have to say I was not impressed by the new Sequoia.

I noticed the doors are thin and feel cheap

Drove okay, but the view over the hood is strange.... the hood dips towards the middle, a little wierd in my humble opinion.

Rode okay,

REALLY cheap plastic

For the money, I will stay with Nissan.

The big question is will Nissan kick it up a notch on the engine for 2009?
Sequoia's got us beat there. Then again, with the Armada rebate and Toyota not budging on price, there can be close to a $20k difference for similarly equipped SUV's.

That was my thought. For the difference in price, not that impressive styling, and $20,000 in cost, I expected much, much more from a Toyota. They seem to be moving in the direction of GM, down a long bad road.

It seems that they will go more for fuel savings than more power. As much as I would like more power in the Armada, it really doesn't need it. ;)

How did you guys come up with a $20k price difference? Maybe $10k if Toyota wasn't budging on price. But they are selling Tundras and Sequoias for a thousands ($3k or Tundras up to 6k) off of sticker in my area. Armadas are being discounted $10k though.

the reason theyre not coming down on price is because they dont have to, in order to sell them...toyotas have a good reputation compare to any other car manufacturers like GM, FORD....im an employee for honda and same goes for us they wont come down on prices like ford or gm giving out rebates and extending theyre warranty in able for them to compete and sell...so thats american hondas opinion and i do agree coz people is still buying hondas due to the fact that theyre greener and more reliable...

I test drove the sequoia before I got my Armada. It felt like a toy in comparison. I was very dissapointed.

As of a month ago the Seq I test drove was MSRP $57,955, they wouldn't lower price.
The Armada LE loaded was $36k
Both were fully loaded with NAV, but don't remember the exact differences in terms of DVD and Tow packages.

I'm sure they price gap is closing as the Seq becomes more available. Or gas prices keep going up....

I tried to test out the Sequoia. The salesman had my family get into a demo, and drove us to the back lot where one that was equipped the way I wanted it was located. All the way over, I was liking what I was seeing from the passenger point of view. When we get there I climb into the driver's seat and my head is touching the headliner. Salesman lowers the seat, I recline it wayyyy back and still only have about 1/2 inch headroom. Didn't even start it up, just told him it won't work and left the dealer. Also, my right leg was digging into the center console. Went to look at an Armada, plenty of headroom and leg room, no problem with console. Much more room. I'm 6'4" 240lbs. Plus I really didn't like the Sequoia gage layout, with the separate deep sunk gages. Very happy with the Armada. Plus I've been noticing the Tundra and Sequoia drivers are constantly checking out my Armada. Buyers remorse?!

Personally I think it's hilarious to BUY one, and then complain about it. That is why blind loyalty cracks me up.....people need to fully test drive any vehicle, no matter how great it is on paper. Some guys say they fit OK at 6'6", but they tend to be longer legged, and I have seen complaints from guys about 6'2" who describe themselves as having a longer torso.

Or gas prices keep going up....I don't think it's fair to compare MSRP of brand X to whatever a dealership "deal" price is of brand Y. A "fully loaded" 2008 Armada (minus dealership accessories) is $52,060..........so to get one at $36K is an amazing deal to say the least.

The Toyota dealer in my area stated that they will only stock the Limited and Platinum versions, which I think is very stupid.

I am not a fan of all the bells and whistles. I like the truck for a truck. I use it as such.

I have also noticed that the back and sides looks very similar to the Toyota minivan. I want a truck, no a minivan.

maybe the most disappointing offer Toyota has-- it should be top of the line like the Avalon

At the end of the Day Anything with the Toyota Logo is a great vehicle mechanical wise, but low grade luxury, cheap made plastics and overpriced.

I don't like the styling of it at all.

On a side note, I'm very curious to how the QX is going to be in the next years since it's not going to share the same platform as the Armada.

maybe the most disappointing offer Toyota has-- it should be top of the line like the AvalonI need to go drive one for myself. I think they did many things right. For one, the size is increased, and the 3rd row is the best in the business (with seats that recline). 2ndly they copied all the awesome Armada features to a tee: the way the 3rd fold flat, the design of the second row etc. And last but not least, the Sequoia has a fully boxed frame...unlike the Tundra trucks it's based on.

And are you sure he Avalon is top of the line? I looked at one a year ago, and was a bit disappointed myself. The taillights stuck out away from the 1/4 panel by a good margin, and the dash vents looked cheesy and did not fit properly. I had driven a Ford 500 earlier that week and walked away thinking the Ford was a better made car (if a lot slower!) ;)
