Tonight I got a wild hair and started to play around with my '06 Armada.

I found the secret little diagnostic screen (which I'm sure everyone knows about except me). This is the screen that you will find if you turn the ignition on and hold the "4" button down while turning the Volume knob. On the "Confirmation/Adjustment" screen, you receive more options by holding down "4" again and turning the volume knob while this screen is displayed.

There is an option for "initialize sram". What does this do?

Anyone know? :-) I really want to hit it!

oh well, got brave and hit it.

Seems it just resets select information in the AV unit.

While radio stations or the navigation address book weren't deleted, it did delete information such as Average MPG & time zone settings.

You can also run a/c diagnostics from that.

Just tried that on my '08 and no luck, must work with only certain years

Wonder if this works on an '04?

I "Believe" it will work on the '04 but I dont know for sure.

On the '08, I believe you hold down the 'settings' button rather then the "4" key ;)

Just tried this, and you are correct my friend. On the 08 Models, you must hold down the settings button while turning the volume button. THANKS!!! very interesting indeed
