I am at the end of my rope with the airbag light. I have reset it three times in the past 3 weeks. It just came on today and I tried the rest method, but after doing it, I noticed that it blinks slow three times, then blinks quickly for 4 blinks, then back again to the beginning. If anyone has any input, I am all eyes.

Hey NYC,
I am having my Airbag light fixed this afternoon. It was reported to the dealer at my last 30K maintenance visit, two weeks ago. They told me that they had to order a part for the seatbelt (I Think) I will let you know for sure later this evening what exactly was replaced and if it took care of the problem.

I had a problem with my airbag light. It was related to the passenger seatbelt. It was covered under warranty.

If you have reset it that many times, something else is wrong. Dealer time!

OK NYC, This is what they did to take care of the Airbag Light blinking. Performed TSB NTB06-001.
Replaced 1 ea. Harness Sub P/N24167-ZH14A, Outer Belt, LH P/N86873-ZC58A and 6 Terminal-joints P/N 24361-79902. All under warranty.
Not sure if that was your problem but it took care of mine. :)

I've had my seat belt harness replaced, belt tensioner replaced and now they are replacing the airbag control module (all under warranty). My brother had the same problem with his 04 Armada with the same sequence of repairs and the same result. The replacement of the airbag control module finally cured the airbag light on problem. I'm currently awaiting the airbag control module to arrive at my local dealership.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. I am happy to post, or ashamed, depending on how you look at it, to say that I fixed the airbag light problem. I was cleaning her out yesterday, and noticed under my seat that there was an unplugged plug right by the subwoofer enclosure. I plug it back in, and did the reseting procedure, and sure enough it worked. Since my kids sit in the back, especially my son who is 18 and 6'0 tall with long legs, might have caused the plug to be undone.

No problem Peter. I hope that the things they did fixes yours. If I wasn't under the nissan extended warranty I have been told the airbag control module costs 800.00, not including labor so I hope you are either covered or don't need that particular fix. I'm still waiting for the part to come in but I'll keep you posted.

$800  . Whew, I am glad I'm covered - normally I avoid extended warrantees, but in this case I read all about the '04s troubles before buying and thought I'll better risk it; Eventhough it clearly stated that rattles, brakes, and electrical components weren't covered. So far I've been pretty much trouble free - I'll keep my fingers crossed, I really don't like to deal with dealers (eventhough I used to work at one in my younger days). Thanks and please keep me posted. Pete
