: Pics of 20 inch rims on the Armada Please....
blackrain 05-31-2005, 05:49 PM I've seen lots of pics of 22 and 24 inch rims here. I'm thinking 20 inch rims might be the best fit for us(wife's daily driver), but would love to see some real world pics if you guys and gals have em. Chrome/Silver/whatever. For those who went 20 inchs on the rims, would also be interested in what tire you went with, good/bad points on the tire, what you might do "next" time. Thanks!
Chris
92TripleBlack 06-01-2005, 05:14 PM See my sig and these pics. I don't like the look of larger and wanted a functional wheel that would allow me to put on A/T tires and go off road. Larger rims wouldn't do that.
weezr17 06-01-2005, 05:18 PM Well, I just figured I'd show my 18" rims.
I SEE YOU TripleBlack! I see you in your Mada! LOL...PEEKABOO! :)

Lots of 20s and 22s. I'd go on Titan Talk and do a search there also. Same look. It seems the SUV guys tend to go a little bigger, and Truck guys a little smaller on the rims. They had a thread that made fun of 24s+. Do you just want pics?

Ya just wanting to see more pics of the 20's on our vehicles or Titans. I was leaning towards the 22's but don't want to affect the ride comfort too much so am re-thinking it.

BostonBob 01-31-2006, 12:59 PM Here is my smoke LE on 20" chromes - they are mc2ning wheels that are only available from new car dealers. I like them cuz they have the nissan centercaps so look more factory. I have the Goodyears in size 305/50 R20. They really improve the looks but I will admit the ride is smoother on the factory rims (18") and tires. Goodyears are not the greatest tire - I like the look of the sidewall but they tend to wear out quickly and the ride is not the best. I always like the Michelin line but I am not sure there are any in this size. I think the 20" is good choice for added look w/o too much reduction in ride quality. In Boston, those 22 or 24 inch rims must KILL the ride. I can't say for sure.

You can also get the A/Ts I have, which are good in snow onto a 20" rim. Not sure what you could put on a 22+ that wouldn't have you spinning in circles, especially in Canada. ;)
adjmcloon 01-31-2006, 06:05 PM I wouldn't be afraid of 20's with a 305/50 tire, just be sure and get good tires. My Nitto's on 20's ride way better than the factory 18's with Continentals ever did. Stay away from Goodyear too.
Michelin, Nitto, Toyo (who makes Nitto), etc. are good.

I checked out the MC2ING.COM web site. I love the RT1 20" rim for the Armada, but unfortunately this company does not have any dealerships in Canada they deal with.

ggeorgie 02-01-2006, 12:28 AM Now, those rims I like

22"s are not bad and pretty sure it won't affect your ride comfort depending on what kind of tires you get :)

BostonBob 02-01-2006, 04:53 PM Crash4444 I like the wheels.
Joe - Check out the Foose Spank6 - that is one fine wheel. Anyone know how much those cost in 20" size?
ockevin 02-01-2006, 06:24 PM Crash,
Those tires are bad ***....Cant wait till they make it in a 22"
I saw the Foose spank 6 like mine in 20" for for $170 a wheel at Discount tire.com
crash4444 02-02-2006, 12:40 AM Thanks for the comments. According to the Panther Wheel website, they come in 22 and 24 sizes, here is a picture of an Escalade of some wrestler and they are 22's. Don't shoot me for posting a picture of and Escalade.
Nissanfan 03-24-2006, 02:22 PM I tried one of those rent a wheel places a week after getting my mada just to see how i liked a larger wheel.. In florida anyways we have rental places for everything, wheels and tires no exception.. First off the CS sucked, The garage was totally secluded from your sight. and back to the wheels.. I got 20" can't remember the name or tire size for that matter, But it rode like crap, rough over bumps and they werent even ultra low profile.. Just my 02 cents, better/taller tires could have improved the ride. Oh and my steering wheel shook on the interstate.
ockevin 03-24-2006, 07:07 PM The tires or steering wheel should not shake on the highway. It sounds like the shop did not balance the tires. I would go to a big name shop in the area and see their work before you buy. The 20" rims should be on 255/55/20 or bigger and they should not ride harsh at all.
