: What do we do?
SykoArmada 06-02-2005, 04:03 AM I know we have had forums with pics of ourselves but here is a new one (I think).
What does everyone do for jobs?
I'll start.....
I work third shift at a company called Jagemann Stamping Company. We are an industrial metal stamping facility located in Manitowoc WI. We stamp out an array of parts for the automotive industry. We have presses from 7 feet tall that hit at about 1 ton per square inch. To presses that are 26 feet tall with catwalks that hit at 300 tons per square inch. We make parts for (yes, Nissan) automotive, home locks, Delta faucets, S.C. Johnson (glade air cans, tea light wick holders) and so on.
My offical title is 3rd shift senior press technican. I have been with the company since I was 19 (31 now). I do a little bit of everything from setting up presses, to machining tooling, to electrical/electronics repair.
Blah, blah, blah. I could bore you for hours since it is 2am an I am on my break.
Well take care.

AKmada 06-02-2005, 05:58 AM I am in the Air Force and my official job code is 2W171, my title is a Weapons Expeditor and my official duty description is this:
Responsible for the squadron armament system maintenance and munitions loading operations of 21 assigned A/OA-10 aircraft. In conjunction with the Production Superintendent, establishes weapons loading and maintenance priorities for sixteen three-person load crews. Directly supervises the preparation, loading, and unloading of seven primary munition family groups and four support munitions. Ensures aircraft are properly configured and loaded. Verifies gun system and weapons release systems are fully mission capable for the daily flying schedule. Implements tracking systems for accountability of over 264 pieces of alternate mission equipment (AME) valued in excess of $2.5 million, ensuring availability of serviceable assets to support the wing's mission. Monitors the status of training and ensures the constant state of readiness for 54 assigned personnel for worldwide deployments. Basically what I do is look at the current status of the jets, scheduled maintanance and any discrepancies that come up for unkown reasons and assign technicians to jobs and supervise them and provide technical advice and take care of any problems that arise. It is pretty fun. Will answer any questions I can dont ask any secret stuf cause I dont want to have to kill any fellow Armada owners :D
As a degreed electrical engineer, I am currently an engineering lab manager for a company that makes commercial ice machines. I take care of the test lab and supervise all lab personnel. I also lead a project team in new product development. Take a look around and you'll see the Scotsman name in a lot of restaurants and motels.
TooTall 06-02-2005, 10:18 AM I'm in the Air Force stationed at Nellis AFB, NV, as an instructor for aircraft fuel systems repair. It's called a "special duty" because my normal job would be Aircraft Fuel Systems repair, working on the flightline. With this job that I am currently in, I basically teach people a specific airframe during a given course. I specialize in the F/A-22, F-16, F-15, HH-60, and A-10 fuel systems. Most of my students are newer people that have not been in the Air Force too long.
I'm an E-6 and have been in 10 1/2 years. Don't like the pay, so I am getting out as soon as this special duty is up and going to work for my father-in-law here in Las Vegas selling Time Share.
weezr17 06-02-2005, 11:57 AM GOOD IDEA SYKO!
WOW GUYS, impressive job discriptions. I'm a Elementary ed. teacher with my Masters in early childhood. I became a Mommy and now that is my new occupation and LOVE! Nothing else I would rather do then spend this precious time with my son. :)
See ya around and watch those spelling errors/typos! ;)
This is interesting.
I have B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a partner in a manufacturers rep company. We sell semiconductors and displays. Displays include 42/50" plasmas (Runco/Fujitsu) and LCD displays from 1"- 30". These include 7" wide screens to Nissan for the RES option.

SO, what exactly do you do in Management information?
Hey, what is that "FLAG" that you have as your avatar? Soccer?

You are right I did think his coment was facetious. It made me think that of all the people that replied he picked me. I could be wrong but it made me think does he have a problem with people who enforce the law. We are not all bad people because in any job there are ones who make the rest look bad.

WHOA, just having a little fun guys
yes I was being facetious but I was not aware of any federal police force that's all, that is why I asked. So is there a federal police force??? I am sure there will be some type of federal police power question on my upcoming bar exam.
I don't have any type of agenda against cops I just found 05MADA's answer the most intriguing. I am friends with a lot of cops and detectives and know they are good people.
As far as my occupation I WAS an Oracle Analyst in a another life. The Dark Arts I was referring to was my completion of my J.D. (Juris Doctorate). I have just graduated from law school and will be taking the bar this summer.
I realize that sarcasm and humor are difficuly to convey with a few avatars and icons but the sensitivity meter seems elevated. Sorry to cause any controversy.
BTW yes my avatar is for MUFC. It is a soccer team from Manchester, England that was just recently purchased by the owner of the Tampa Bay Bucs for over $1 Billion.

You will make a good lawyer since most are good at sarcasm and and stretches of the truth. And at the end everyone is still unsure on what you said or tried to say.
weezr17 06-06-2005, 07:58 AM WOW....MMMMM...UH...WHAT THE "F" is an ORACLE ANALYST? :hmm:
The other thing that caught my attention was the RKS's comment about the PATRIOT ACT......isn't that about terrorism?
I guess I got freaked a bit about that. I just think you shouldn't joke about stuff like that.
:thumbdown

Oracle is a database, as an analyst I did some coding (programming) and database design. Clear?
As far as mentioning the Patriot Act, hoooooooooooooooooly cow; are you seriously freaked out ? You realize that CARNIVORE (Google is your friend)is listening/reading all of YOUR posts don't you??? That is what you should worry about. .

Okay.....so what are you saying? That we're all safe (HA)? You forget you are talking to a NYer. Always on alert, always skeptical. Especially after 911. I know it's a shame BUT that's the kind of world we live in.

SykoArmada 06-06-2005, 06:23 PM Thanks for the positive feedback. I started it to have a little fun and break the ice around the site. I don't want anybody to feel that we are digging into your private lives, making fun of what you do, or just being malicious.
I hope that we can "all get along". So lets keep this going and see what parts of the working world we all have here

justayear2004 06-07-2005, 09:10 PM No one ever nows what that stands for so I am a Sr.Marketing Communications Manger. The position used to be called an Advertising Manager, Trade Show Manager, Print Buyer, Media Director - take your pick.
I handle all of the print/marketing materials, ad creation/coordination, trade show planning, company web site stuff etc. I am in the high-tech field and up until recently worked for the first commercial laser manufacturer in the world, Spectra-Physics. They were bought by another company in our industry and I got the short end of the stick - was asked to be the number 2 person but I declined - they wanted me to move back to Orange County, CA for - get this, an additional $7500. I couldn't even buy my townhouse back (I sold when I left in '94) for $625-650K!
Anyway, now in the same industry, with a start-up and we make interferometers that are used in the aerospace companies to test optics and mirrors and other types of surfaces. Less stress and about the same money.
Also, just finished my BS in Business Marketing in December - only took me 20 years!!
Sorry for the long answer!

I also worked for Fujitsu, Fujitsu Microelectronics Inc (FMI, GMD), from 1995 to 2002 in Gresham, OR. They shut down this fab in Nov. 2001. From 2002 to present, I work for Microchip Technology. I worked for WaferTech as well which is a foundry fab in Vancouver, WA. I have 2 friends work for IDT here in the Silicon Valley of Portland, OR area. Semiconductor is a very small world here where everyone knows everyone.
I am one of the guys that fix the high tech wafer processing tools. Fujitsu sent me to several training classes in Austin for TEL Alpha-8, San Jose for Mirra (AMAT), and DNS AS-2000 in Dallas, TX.
BTW: Are you Equipment Engineer or Process Engineer?
