: 22" 's VS. 24" s : Need Some Input

Summer is almost here and the beast needs some new shoes.

I have been thinking of putting some 24"'s on the Armada however I heard that the ride quality was poor, you can hear a lot of road noise, and the potential for a blowout is more so than 22"s due to the limited side wall.

I live in Seattle, so I have to deal with potholes, speed bumps, un-leveled streets, gravel, etc. on a everyday basis.

I really like the way 24"'s look, fills in nice, but the 22"'s seem more practial.

I've never had either on a SUV, so for those who are rolling 22's and 24's need your input. This is rather a BIG investment and want to make sure I make the right decision.

I want to maintian a stock diameter overall so most likely I will be using low pro tires. And I don't want to modify the suspension and I don't plan on lowering it either.

Any advice would help.

THANKS!

Are you possibly thinking of 24's -vs- 26's instead of 22 -vs- 24 ??? I'm just asking because I've only heard of those issues from people who are running on 26's if memory serves me right. Oh, and also keep in mind that you can step your tires up to 33's if you think the 32's might be too thin.

I have a buddy who has an expedition with 24's on it and he complains all the time about ride quality, but he sticks with it casue it looks good.

I also know a guy from work who has 26's on his escalade and it rides smooth like butter.

Just asking cause I've never been in anyone else's armada but mine, and I'm on stock so I an't complain. I wish I can borrow a set of 24's for a day. I know it sounds silly but atleast I know how it would feel and handle.

The tire sizes they're running on make a huge difference more than the rim size. I've driven PHD007's Armada and DF6_Titan's Titan and I could hardly notice a difference in the ride quality. Most wheel/tire shops will change them back out if you don't like them.

On 24's you can get a 40 series tire and that will give you alot of rubber, i would go for the 24's they look sick on the madas, the only way i would do 22's is if i were going for the rugged look with all terrain tires, but get a good brand tire, believe it or not it makes a diference. People get wheels all the time and get some cheap tires and that will have something todo with the ride cuality. i have 26's with pirellis and they ride better than my uncles escalade with 24's and kuhmo tires, you get what you pay for.

I roll on 24's and have no issues with ride quality or road noise, plus they look SICK!!!!

I also have the 24's and dont notice it too much. I do notice the handling is better in the high speed turns, like on the freeway and even better in the rain.
