We still do not offer a forum member discount. Unlike some of our competitors, we do not inflate our prices just to offer a discount to a select group. Instead we gaurantee the lowest out the door price on all the products we carry for everyone. If a competitor ever has a cheaper advertised out the door price, we'll beat it! :cool:

Welcome DT. I've bought tires from Direct for my Suby in the past and the service was great. I'll be needing some Trail Grapplers or Wrangler Duratracs here in the future for my Armada.

In the meantime, I am looking for a new set of shoes for my 2001 Suby RS. Thinking either the new Nitto Motivo in 235/45-17 or the Conti DWS in 225/45-17. It's my daily driver that has tuned suspension. I drive in all weather conditions (Seattle). Thoughts on which is a better tire?

The Motivo is brand new to the market so at this point we can't compare it's performance to the DWS. Spec wise though, the Motivo should do great in all conditions and should ride a little smoother than the DWS. I don't think you can go wrong with either one :cool:

When researching on your website, is there a way to get the tires locally at the store rather than getting them shipped to the house and then putting them on myself? Don't they have to be mounted correctly by a tire technician for about the same prices?

I have purchased at least four sets of tires over the past two years from Discount Tire. I used their website to research what tires I wanted to buy, finding out the prices, and making the final decision. I then went to my local Discount Tire outlet to order the tires and have them installed. I have been very satisfied with the service, quality of the work, and the prices are competitive or lower than anybody I've found, including TireRack, Costco, and others. I particularly like the ability to make an appointment so that I don't have to sit around and wait for hours until they can get to work on my car. I highly recommend using Discount Tire, and will purchase future tires from them.

I believe the Cooper Discoverer ATP is such a new tire; there are no user reviews yet. That's what I was looking for also. They look so much similar to the AT3. I want a good road tire as well as an okay occasional off-road tire. I drive mostly through the urban jungle.

Keith, I'm not sure what you're going for or if you have the 19" staggered or 17" matching wheels, but I put a set of those Continental ExtremeContacts on the Porsche and they were a pretty nice set of tires... In the past I always ran Dunlop or Nitto high performance tires on my performance cars and they always gave me a great ROI.

I've got the staggered 19" setup, it has the OEM Conti Extreme Contacts on there right now. I like them, but I'm leaning towards the Michelin Super Sports right now; a bit cheaper, much higher ratings, plus I've had excellent luck with Michelin tires in the past. Got Pilot Sport A/S on my Maxima, >50K miles and they still have more than 1/3 tread left. Got Michelins on the Armada, and have been very happy with them as well. Oh, the choices.....
