: 2006 Armada?
t-yayo 06-03-2005, 01:10 PM Quick question to anyone, and everyone... Anyone know if there will be a 2006 version of the Armada?
I haven't bought one yet, but I'm in the market. :D

weezr17 06-03-2005, 02:33 PM GOOD QUESTION! I have been wondering the SAME THING. It will be interesting to see the changes and IMPROVEMENTS!
jerseyparts 06-03-2005, 04:19 PM If they do decide to do drastic changes, you would have heard about them by now, the release of the 2006 Armada will be around 8/05 as they were introduced 8/03 Nissan likes to run concurrent!
jpolner 06-05-2005, 10:21 PM I've been trying to find this answer for several weeks as well. Also in the market....
AZARMADA 06-06-2005, 12:15 AM I did read that there were just going to be miner interior changes.
armoody 06-06-2005, 12:49 AM ....if there will be a 2006.... ?

No question about if, it looks like the question is when. Which brings to mind, anyone have Armada sales figures for 2004 and 2005 to date? :hmm:
blackrain 06-06-2005, 08:12 AM NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS
-- Best month sales ever for Nissan Division
-- March sales for Nissan-brand vehicles were up 13.8 percent when compared to last year with 92,221 units sold accounting for its best March
-- Best month ever for Altima with total sales of 25,329
-- Pathfinder (7,345 units sold), Murano (7,131 units sold), Armada (4,156 units sold) and Titan (8,202 units sold) had their best March
-- Calendar year-to-date sales are up 14.4 percent with 232,717 units sold
inf3rno 06-20-2005, 11:24 AM im also in the market, but again i want to see the 06 model with the changes...
92TripleBlack 06-20-2005, 11:30 AM They have also been talking about a diesel option in '06 or '07. Probably '07 is more likely at this point.
inf3rno 06-20-2005, 02:49 PM diesel? well i dont think so... toyota just reveal an 06 hybrid suv but is 7 grand more than the one that uses regular fuel, and only gives u 33mpg city 28mpg highway. but for 7,000 dollars more? i will take 5 years to start saving money on gas, so i dont think a diesel or hybrid version of an armada will save u money my friends. ;)
wantanarmada 06-20-2005, 05:00 PM Nissan and Toyota are notorius for making improvement changes for a current model vehicle. I know I am going to be sorry if I purchase an armada now and next year they change for the better. For some reason I think nissan will give the Armada fender flares. We'll see!
92TripleBlack 06-20-2005, 11:00 PM I said diesel because the Titan is slated for one. If they go to the trouble of putting it in the titan, they may also offer in Armada.

yes but armada is more of a family SUV whether titan is a work load truck dont u think? i guess for that matter armada must remain fuel powered. otherwise call it excursion.... arghhh!!!! :)

Suburban and Excursion both have diesel options. If they introduce the new clean diesel fuel they use in Europe, they would kick tail. Euro diesels are in high performance BMWs for example and tye will crush regular gas ones. EX. some 7 series have 300 HP and 516TQ, with a 4.5 liter diesel. http://www.bmw.ru/english/world/news/default.asp?cont=content.asp&query=pageID_139 But they run on cleaner diesel than we have in the states so they don't send them here. BMW says it will send them if we get the better fuel. The fuel companies say they won't sell the fuel because there is noone using it. Vicious circle and we are left out. I remember reading somewhere however the government has told gas companies to clean up their diesel within a few years so there is hope. :D
SykoArmada 06-21-2005, 03:16 PM I would love to have this thing with a diesel option. I could just imagine the torque curve on it now.... :temphot:
I love towing my 29ft Jayco with the gas engine. The diesel would probably place us in the Cummins club. Hope they have a cool name for it too.
How much more manly can Cummins or PowerStroke can we get.
Like my buddy who has a Cummins always says "I'd rather be a Cummin than a Strokin" (hope I don't offend anyone).

Heat03 06-21-2005, 03:37 PM IMO, no reason to wait for an 06... I just got mine last week and you will save $$$ by taking an 05. Especially if there aren't major changes..
Now if this brake issue is corrected by then (jury still out on mine 900 miles only), then it would be worth it...
Also, if you take an 05 late in the year instead of an 06 in 05, it will help you later as you will have less mileage per year when you go to sell... does that make any sense? LOL

umm i was reading the bmw 7 series web that posted, and was reading about the engines: most of em' give about 25-27 mpg am i right on this? considering these are diesel or petrol is really good, but where are talking bout german company whether here is ford with excursion and expy. kinda of a diff dont u think? and yes nissan DID A GREAT JOB ON HIS 1ST YEAR WITH THE ARMADA !! :D

Yes. That is the correct mileage. Don't expect to get mileage like this however. The 7 series is much smaller, lighter, and more aerodynamic than an Armada. But we would probably have better mileage and more power. The fuel is the big concern first though.
blackrain 06-22-2005, 01:43 PM As the owner of a Mada and a 7 series, I will tell you they remind me of each other quite a bit. The 7 series may be lighter than the Beast, but she still weighs in at 4500lbs. This little fact works out nicely when someone runs into you doing 45mph (see link). The 4.4 liter 8 cylinder is good for 280 HP, and with the 3.15 sport rear diff, is good for 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. Like the beast, this is the most impressive thing to me about the car, based on its size, it is faster than you would think it would be. I love when ANY other big 4 door sedan pulls up next to me at the stop light, again, much light being next to any SUV in the Beast. I think you all can see a trend here...........big, safe, fast. Onward and upward Club Armada!

Heat03 06-22-2005, 01:52 PM Wow,
Glad you are ok :)
I guess gas mileage and brake issues aren't so important in the big picture. I feel pretty safe in my new Mada and feel confident that if I have my belt on and I get hit, I should be able to walk away without too much damage.
You can't put a price tag on that !
inf3rno 07-04-2005, 08:45 PM well then im doing research but i cant find anything about ugrades on the 2006 model, since im getting one, i want to know something on changes on the next model, so if anyone has any kind of information it will more than apreciated. thxs a lot!! :)
jupiterstorm24 07-05-2005, 10:08 AM the dude at my nissan dealership said they will be keeping the main design of the armada until 07', he said there will be just minor changes.

That is the reason I love leasing I get to drive a new one every few years
92TripleBlack 07-06-2005, 03:16 PM I doubt they would have a new one in '07. Its too new. They will redesign when they redo the Titan. "07 will have new Toyota, Chevy and Dodge though and Ford will have its Lightning back so they may feel compelled to bring in a new one. But if you look at Toyota and chevy they have 8 years between redesigns vs. ours that would be at 4 years. ;)
Here's the latest up and coming from Nissan I could find.
http://www.edmunds.com/future/nissan/index.html
The others are already listed. After '07 I don't expect to be the best, but still really good, and the best until then. :D
fred_vee 07-06-2005, 03:29 PM Based on what I see here in the oil capital of California, the new diesel will be along soon enough. Not this year, nor next, but pretty soon.

Glad I could help. It is a pretty good site with a lot of good info and farily unbiased reivews. Many of the current periodicals aren't as "objective". ;)
Speaking of diesel,
Can someone explain to me the lure of diesel? I know it's torquey, but diesel costs more, harder to find, noisey, and smells.
Other than you can pull a house off its foundation, what are the benefits?
SykoArmada 07-06-2005, 05:35 PM Hey Andy,
I guess it is a testosterone thing. They are pricey to maintain but run for ever. You know with names like Cummins, Power Stroke, and Duramax we all know what part of your ego they are stroking. I would want one for towing. I used to drive tractor trailer part-time and I do miss the sound of the turbo in a Detroit Diesel. Just my two cents. Hell if the Armada offered a diesel with a 6 speed manual tranny count me in.
A friend of mine has a 88 Dodge with the 1st generation Cummins with 800K on it and one rebuild. Two new bodies and the orginal tranny. Runs good and sounds like a dump truck when he shifts.
Take care.

Torquey, high mileage, fuel is usually lower but fluctuates. In May, Diesel was cheaper.
Here's the F250 with gas vs. Diesel.
Gas 6.8L
Diesel 6.0L
Gas HP 362
Diesel HP 325
Gas TQ 457
Diesel TQ 570
Gas 5th wheel tow cap 16700
Diesel 5th wheel tow cap 19200
Can't find the mileage estimates but you usually get a substantial increase. They NEVER wear out.
In the next couple years they will be raising the quality of the diesel to Euro standards. Right now it is very dirty stuff. When they do, we will have access to the next gen. of diesels. Less stink and noise, more power and acceleration. They have them in current BMWs sold in Europe.
I see that diesels crack out ALOT of torque. Does this translate into faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? Since I don't tow much, I'd be more interested in speed. Do diesel engines with all this torque have the explosiveness of gas engines. Meaning they want to rev up to red line?
RedSonja 08-22-2005, 02:44 PM I have been lurking on this site since late last year in anticipation of getting my own Armada LE 4x4 Deep Red Brawn (I like your style TripleBlack) Diesel. Well as of 15 minutes ago my sales contact at a local Nissan dealer just received word back from Nissan Corp. office that yes indeed there will be a diesel engine offered for the 2007 Armada which should arrive on lots late 2006! They would not release any further info on the subject at this time.
P.S. I love this site and think you all have taught me so much. I am ready to get my Armada and start my own upgrades. My wife wishes I go and get one now and not wait, but this news is giving me more patience to wait. What do you think?
