Yes there are...we have somewhere in the TRILLIONS of gallons in reserves that are sitting on FEDERAL land that they won't open up for exploration!!!!
Go to Youtube and search for a video called Joe America...this guy says it best!!! (sorry I don't have the link, I'm at work and YT is blocked)
It's not JUST the big oil companies that are causing the the high prices!

I have to laugh at the Montana Governor though - they estimate 4billion barrels - I would say there are 40..... OK they are conservative so there are probably between 4-12 billion barrels, but 40 - seriously doubt it

Thanks Joe! I couldn't have said it better myself.
Both parties in this election are a joke and could care-a-less about you and me as a whole.

Now I am no economy guru or anything, but what I do know is we could open our reserves and tap in to all the oil and gas deposits that we have and if the investers are still pushing the price of a barrel of oil up and up, it would not do anything to the price of gas or heating oil. I pretty sure that Mobil and Chevron will still charge the going price even if more supply was put out to the market. Just my thought anyway...

Well but then if you read today the big oil companies are sitting on tons in reserve that they don't want to drill because it is a bit costly. Not sure if that means they need to sell it for $100 a barrel or $200 or what it means. However, I think sometimes the truth lies right in between what the government and the oil companies are saying....
No bid contracts awarded for Shell, BP etc in Iraq - amazing how that worked out....Think those companies met the president in the White House and the WH is refusing to share the meeting minutes...
