Has anyone tried to add an a/c condenser fan to their mada? Seems like there is room to add one or two more.. My a/c works great while your rolling yet warms up some when at long lights or heavy traffic....Seems like an extra fan blowing over the condenser may help......

I had a problem where my a/c started blowing hot air while iddling in 113 degree weather. took it to the dealer and they confirmed that everything is normal in my truck. My fan is working fine. it comes on when the compressor gets too hot, I am okay with antifreeze and there are no leaks in my system. The problem was that it was sooo hot that even with the fan blowing it did not make a difference. the compressor shut down. the outside temperature, the engine heat, the road heat plus just sitting there was too hot for just one fan. I would think that adding an extra fan would help. I am looking into adding a fan controlled manually by a switch would help some. I have noticed that this problem manly happens in California, Nevada and Arizona where it gets extremely hot. now that I know how our a/c's work I am glad it shut down and don't have to worry about replacing a blown compressor. comments???

The dealer serviceman and I looked up any tsb/recall for my vin # and came up empty. We did see this one but it is for 2005-2006 Titan/Armada and indeed it is a recall but I have a 2004. The Service guy just confirmed exactly what SCR38 said on another thread, the only difference is my fan is working fine and I could only think that the extreme temperature is what caused the compressor to shut down.

This TSB is for the 04s. I had it done on mine; my A/C works fine at idle in 105+ temps.
