I saw a brief explanation on Motor Week and read about this that this is better than regular air in your tires (does not expand with heat and less leaks are possible because Nitrogen molecules are larger).

Has anyone tried this yet?

It is a expense that wouldn't do us any good. Nitrogen is used in aircraft tires and in some race cars because of the very wide range of temp these tires are exposed to. Since the nitrogen doesn't expand and contract nearly as much as air, so the pressure remains constant. IMHO it would be a waste to use it in our tires.

Just as I thought...not really necessary. I thought I would ask since there seems to be so much hype about it and COSTCO uses it for their installed new tires.

You're already using primarily nitrogen when you use normal air. Air is made up of nitrogen (78%) and some oxygen (21%) and traces of other gases like argon, water, carbon dioxide, ozone, and more.
