I am needing a new set of tires for my 05 Armada LE. Currently I have a set of 265/70-18, which are the size that came on it stock. I was thinking about going a 1/2 inch shorter to a 275/65-18. They are Toyo's. First of all how bad will it mess up my gas mileage if I do go a little shorter? And anyone had a good experience wih Toyo's? Any other brands that you recommend? I currently have Goodyear's on it and hate them. Also, should I go for a 6 ply or will a 4 ply be ok. Thank you.

Welcome to CA olsontl!
Your speedometer will make you think you are traveling faster than you really are by about .3mph!
Toyos are AWESOME!!!! The 275/65-18 will fit just fine. Due to that size, I'm assuming you might be looking at the Open Country A/T ??? I think the OEM are 4-ply just make sure to get the 'LT' (Light Truck) size instead of 'P' (P-Metrc) size, there is a difference in sidewall strength from my understanding.
FWIW, we're having an OKC meet this Saturday if you're interested in seeing what some of us have done.

Thank you for responding. Yes, they are the Toyo Open Country A/T. I would love to come to the meet in OKC, but with gas prices the way they are a 3 hour drive would kill it right now. However, please keep me updated for future ones.
Will do. I don't know wher you are but DF6-Titan is coming down from Owasso and they are covoying if you want to ride instead of drive. DF6 has one of the fastest Titans in the world right now.
The Toyo Open Country A/T is exactly the same as the Nitto Terra Grapplers I'm running on now and they are produced in the same mfg plant. You're only gas milage pain will be from the added weight of the tires but the size you're looking at isn't too bad so your MPG will drop a bit from where it is now but it shouldn't be by very much, maybe 1-mpg difference would be my guess. Probably about 20-30 miles less per fillup would be my off the wall guess.
