We've seen details of the forthcoming Nissan 350Z replacement, dubbed the 370Z on account of a bump in displacement to 3.7 liters for its next-gen VQ V6 engine, and we also know that it will debut this November at the L.A. Auto Show. Nissan even revealed its own version of a quirky teaser shot showing the car's profile. A recent presentation held somewhere on this floating orb we call Earth, however, included a slide that pretty much removes the mystery surround the rear-wheel-drive coupe's new looks. Fortunately for us, someone at the presentation forgot to confiscate everyone's camera phone. So what we see is a new 370Z that very much retains the basic shape of the current car, but features softened creases, fenders flaired even more, a kinky C-pillar and a pair of headlights with an odd 'L' shape that first debuted on the 2009 Maxima. Along with the new shape, the new engine should offer buyers around 330 horsepower, as we doubt Nissan will want to make the less expensive 370Z more powerful than the more expensive 330-hp Infiniti G37.

Cillyone 08-22-2008, 03:07 PM I doubt Nissan will worry about the G37 and 370Z having the same mill as the seating configuration will mainly separate the two sales-wise as it has in the past. The 80% new-for-07 350Z dual throttle body VQ35HR 3.5-liter 306HP V6 engine is an awesome piece and exactly what the wife and I wanted; refinement of an already award winning engine. Who wants to bring kids along anyway? So far the "new" Z looks good except for the goofy headlights.
My little brother had nothing but problems with his rear Camber constantly popping out of line on his 350z. He said that he has a couple buddies with G35's who are having the same problem and cannot seem to get it fixed. I'm questioning if he or his buddies have gone about getting it fixed right because we have so many flakey alignment shops around here but hearing that does make me weary.
Cillyone 08-22-2008, 05:20 PM Hey Pops,
Are you sure it was not the front suspension? Was your brothers Z a 2003 or a 04? From what I have learned the early troublesome alignment spec issues were pretty much cleared up in 2005 and were affected only in the front. So far (KK on wood) the only issue we have had has been a tranny cooling line sealing washer needed R&R due to poor assembly (off-center). Other than that it has been almost too much fun (driving record-wise), man, that thing can scoot.
mattduke1 08-22-2008, 05:47 PM I have a silver 35th Anniversary Z that I absolutely love. The picture up above doesn't do anything for me.
No, I'm not sure but I think he might said front and rear, it was an '03. So, your '07 is doing well on the tire wear??
Cillyone 08-22-2008, 06:49 PM So far, so good on tire wear, I'll look at the odo when I get a chance. Of course me getting sideways should not count, it is mainly the wife's car anyway so I only drive it now-and-again, too hard to get in and out of for me. I am pretty sure most of the 350Z tire wear problems (toe-out) were fixed by 2005 (tighter toe-in specs). I am pretty much a motorcycle & truck kinda guy through and through, but the engine in the 350Z I find really interesting though, what a mean little sweetheart.
He did not have toe problems, he specifically said it was camber and would wear out the inside of his Pirelli's excessively. I debated with him saying that camber will not cause that kinda wear but toe will. He said when the camber kicked out, it would throw the toe out causing it but when taking it for alignment, they only needed to fix the camber to correct both camber and toe so that proved it was the camber bolts slipping. I just think that I would've found a way to fix it if he had just told me and let me get my hands on it but you know how little bro's are, they always want to show us that they know more than we do and don't need our help. ;)
Cillyone 08-22-2008, 08:12 PM Have you bro look at these two sites:

He sold his 350z last year and bought a GX470 instead so he's not interested anymore. He's one of those guys who has to keep buying new cars all the time, he's now getting bored of his GS300 and wanting to trade it in. Since he is a stay at home dad and doesn't work, I keep on him to stop wasting his wifey's hard earned money like that because it turns my stomach everytime I see him trade in a 3-yr old car for a brand new one.
Cillyone 08-23-2008, 01:25 AM I would pedal any old POS car to be a stay-at-home anything, sign me up!!
Now for something entirely different and off subject. Went motorcycle trail riding with my (almost) 16 yr old son yesterday and he biffed it pretty good at speed (end-over-end 3rd gear whiskey throttle wheely), thank goodness he was decked out with protective gear. He found out he is not unbreakable after all; fractured bones in his wrist & thumb and about $300 damage to his YZ426, and got a cast on his writing hand just in time for school next week. He won't be driving moms Z anytime soon, even with a good wrist.
Whoa!!!! That bites. At least it was only his wrist and thumb. My knucklehead nephew laid his little 250 sideways on gravel one night riding after dark and spiral fractured his leg because it got caught up in the chain about 6-yrs ago. He was showing me his Katana for sale a couple weeks ago and friggin' dumped it and cracked the crank cover while he was trying to get the seat off to pull the battery to replace. I told him to replace that cover then sell it fast before his clumsy self wrecks it up any more. I was considering getting it before I saw it, that kid (22yrs old now) ragged the crud outta that thing.
