question? i just bought a 2008 Mada 2 weeks ago, and i notice black sticker on the door pillar post, i was curious and took it off. I noticed that there`s a lot of scratches on the paint. I`m not sure if this sticker needs to stay or what, i`ll probably go back to the dealer and get the scratches buffed out, any suggestions please...

Are you talking about the blackout on the doors on both sides?

If you are, it is where they take some fine sandpaper and make sure the surface is flat, no solvent pops, paint or clearcoat runs or paint dirt, before they add the blackout. The scratches are normal under this.

yes the "blackout", but the passenger side is clear and no scratches, the other side is all f***ed up. I`ll try to buff it out if not i`ll probably just buy a chrome or carbon fiber pillar post to cover it. thanks guys!!

There have only been one or two peoples who have reported the paint to be normal under there. Every body else who try to take them sticker off find scuffed paint. Myself included.:D

Just buff it out yourself cause the dealer is going to charge you an arm and a leg to replace the vinyl tape on it....

The "scuffed paint" helps the sticker adhere to the surface better so it wont peel off like the rubber cusion in the over head sunglasses compartment. More surface area (in the scratches) to stick to.
