If anyone has had this issue did it get fixed??


My 09 LE had the rear hatch car wash issue today... will be at the dealer in the AM... we have under 1000 miles on it. I have ran it through the car wash 2 other times already with no problems but after the wash today we got home to unload some stuff and it would only unlatch when you used the handle so I reclose it and tried both remotes and the inside buttom with no auto open. I restarted locked/unlocked everything checked the window etc. Still nothing. Had to make a quick trip out about 30 min. after this and while driving there were several instances of the tailgate beeping. When I arrived I tried the latch and the auto open feture worked again.

I assume that something is getting wet and then drying out. I'm just glad that mine didnt open in the carwash liek the other guy... someone would be getting hurt monday morning if that was the case...

i got the same problem you have (manual or in the push-button inside, it wont open. i thought its a weather issue too because it happen only when its cold) only that i have a 05 mada. i went to the dealer. they change the motor and still they could not fix it. so i wait for it like 3 month because the dealer told me that they gonna wait for the nissan engineer to figure it out what;s wrong with it. but thanks to the nissan customer service they call me and said go to another dealer and have it fix. i went to ira nissan in woburn, ma. and the guy there knows whats wrong with it, he just change the liftgate hatch and thats it its good until now.

Had the same problem a year ago it was the liftgate motor.

so far they are waiting on parts they claim that the weather strip around the lift gate wasnt keeping out the water and that they found a plug that was getting wet so they dried it out taped it up and are replacing the weather strip. Hopefully that is the problem because if that was the plug that was getting wet and they taped it but if water is getting in some other way then the water will still be getting in but I wont know because the plug is taped up. Anyway they are fixing it monday.
