My high mount stoplight isn't working properly. A friend was following me the other day and told me it was completely out. I was going to replace the bulb. However, as I was leaving the gym today, I could see the reflection as I was leaving and could tell the light was actually on. I have noticed a clicking noise coming from under the dash when I apply the brakes when I first start the vehicle in the mornings. I was hearing that clicking noise this morning as well.

It seems that the 3rd brake light is working when the vehicle is first started. But then the clicking noise stops and the light stops working. I need to do further investigation to see if this is really the case. I've also called my local Nissan dealer to see if they're aware of such an issue. Still waiting on a call back from them.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? :crikey:

The clicking is a relay that is located just under the shift console. My guess is the relay is failing and needs to be replaced.

I think you might be right. This morning I was backing out of a parking space and heard the clicking when I applied the brake. I had my hand on the gear shift at the time and actually felt a slight vibration with the clicking.
