I have an 08 LE w/o NAV, what are some recommended brands to have installed? I want it to look as close to factory as possible. Thanks and Aloha!

Thanks for the link. I am not looking to do the install myself, would I have to purchase the monitor and dvd player separately?

Yes you would, but check with our site sponsor http://www.tech12volts.com and see what kind of bargain he can get you!

Here is a different install idea! http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12214

That ANS178 posted above has not been available for awhile now and could likely be leftover old stock. This ANS185 is a better deal IMO:

... and this complete package is the BEST close to OEM deal that I've seen. http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9899

FWIW, the extra $90 is worth spending on the finishing touches IMO.

Did you do the install yourself?

No I didnt install myself. I took it into a nearby car audio shop and had it installed. They built the DVD enclosure and wrapped it in black vinyl.

Guys, just bought the Myron&Davis 9" Widescreen Overhead DVD Package. I'm going to attempt the install myself when the unit comes in today. Is there anything I should know before doing this? I know it comes with instructions, but I was just wondering if I'm going to come across any obstacles. Thanks :urock:

Lots of obstacles. Just take your time and use the How-To's to get it right the first time. I spent about a week on mine.

Just keep a portable nearby just in case it takes longer than a day!

Tonight???? You can get it patched together tonight but you may have to go back and redo it later though. Guess it depends on how detailed of an install you want to do.

I like to run things real clean. If I have to remove the front seats and go underneath the carpet, I'm willing to do it. Oh yeah, I did not get the mount for the DVD player. Is that something that I would have to purchase at Nissan. Would it be safe to be in the middle console till I get one?

Question for all of you. I just submitted my request to the dealer to have my 2010 Armada ordered. I didn't bother with the DVD system from them, I figured that I would use the portable one that I have in my Altima. But I saw saw someone's pic and remembered that there is all that storage ontop. What is the biggest size monitor you can fit in there? Also would there be any loss of storage for a monitor with a sunroof? I would love to stay within the same size that we have now 10.2
Thanks!

Yea, it'll be fine to drill a hole and leave in the existing center console for now. It should've came with some brackets that you can use. If you're getting the OEM DVD Console Bin then you'll be disregarding the one you have anyway.

You'll need to disassemble the Overhead Bin and Center Console, no need to remove a seat. You can fish the cord through the overhad liner with a clothes hanger then do the same for underneath the carpet. The insulation liner on the door jamb behind the driver's seat can be pulled out and the cord pushed in underneath it then put back on.

Georgi, it all depends on how much cutting you want to do. ;)

Well guys an update on my progress. No way in hell that I was going to get this full installation done last night. I managed to mount the Screen and run the cable from the screen to underneath the passenger side last night. I wish I knew how to dissasemble the middle console so I can get the wires to run through there. Looks like my son is going to have a boring 8hr ride tonight without any entertainment. I was just thinking of bringing it in to a stereo shop up in NorCal to finish the installation. I really want to do it myself, but time was a factor. Thanks

If you wait until you get back and give yourself plenty of time, you can do it better than a shop can.

For the Center Console, you have to start from the inside and work your way out. There are 3-screws in the bottom under the mat and 2 on the top driver's edge under the rubber stops. Then the lid lifts the entire insert out. Then you can push the rear cup holder out through the back then there is 1- screw in each side up top that attach the side upper trim pieces. Then you remove the remaining screws inside the cup holder to pop the entire rear of the console off.

Thew first time takes alot of hours then it's easy cheesy the next time. I wouldn't let anyone else mess with it if it were me.

That's true! I'd rather see what's going on with my Mada than wait to get it back from some installers. But i was browsing around and found this thread. I know it's a QX, but some similarities in the break down. This is as far as I want to get for the wiring when I connect everything and hide the wires within the console. I think this might help me. Also another question for you Pops. Should I splice into the cigarrette lighter power source or go straight to the fuse box. I noticed that with the Myron & Davis DVD package the Screen has it's on power chords seperate from the DVD unit. Can I daisy chain the power of screen to the DVD unit?

I daisy chained them and it's not the best but it's ok.

So I finished up the install last night. I deciced to utilize the power source to the rear ciggarette lighter since my wife wanted the DVD unit in the middle compartment. Just when I thought that I was done, I came across another delimma. The Airbag warning light keeps on blinking. I did remove the passenger side seat and I made sure the all the plugs were in place when I reinstalled the seat. Now I have this real low buzzing noise as well. I read the thread about the AirBag light. I tried the procedure and it did now work. Any other suggestions CA??

This link should work. If it doesn't, then I'd check the harnesses to make sure they are all connected good with no bent pins then try again.
