: Infinity Qx56 triked out to almoust the max
LCatGA 01-12-2009, 04:26 AM We just got 05 Qship and would like to make it somewhat mo responcive. I undestand what I'm not going to turn hippo in to a whitetail :) and frankly do not need it - we drive CLK 55 and fully upgraded E55 with Kleeman Stage 7 pushin close to 700hp. So Qx will never be fast enough but I think some extra HP will always be welcomed and might even result in better MPG(thats what I'm telling my wife anyway) LOL. So far I've settled on
Borla Dual Exhaust System - almost went with JDA but concerned about sound
Injen Power Flow Cold Air Intake System Chrome
Bully Dog Power Pup Downloader
Motorvator Throttle Body Spacer
Any suggestions/objections?
Trying to figure out headers - which once?
Also I would love to have more breaking power but not ready to drop $3K on the big breake kit - any ceaper alternatives?
Thank you all
LCatGA 01-12-2009, 04:42 AM WHat else I could get for it. Not going to do SC though :)
eurohazard 01-12-2009, 07:39 AM If you don't want to do the supercharger, and money seems to be of little concern.....I'd focus on head work, freer flowing intake (not just the air tube, but intake manifold), and exhaust (which you seem to be doing by looking at headers).
By the way, no "y" in Infiniti! ;)
scr38 01-12-2009, 10:29 AM With the other mods you mentioned I would add Nismo headers, and replace the stock cats in the B pipes with some good high flows.
I don't think you need to do any head work. The stock heads are good up to 500 HP.
A more involved mod would be the addition of Wolf cams, but the results are well worth it. With these mods you should run in the 13s.
FWIW, here's the fastest Titan: http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/member.php?u=4976
... and here's the fastest Armada: http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/member.php?u=2033
Also, Boost Logic is looking into building Turbo kits for our motor: http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53209
Another company is trying to build a 500hp N/A motor: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-performance-modifications/85573-anyone-interested-6-0l-vk56.html
Qx_indulgence 01-12-2009, 06:31 PM Cai, Exhaust, Headers, Cams, 07 Intake Manifold, and Osiris custom tune(they provide multiple maps and is tailored to your car).
LCatGA 01-13-2009, 02:05 AM Cams - how much ar they and what is HP gain
07 Intake Manifold - does it really make difference - what is price, how expencive part and install
Osiris custom tune - much better then Bully dog? Also how much
You'll have to look them up. Some need to be looked up under a Titan, it's the same motor. You really should look through Toomnymods' and Qaher's mod lists posted above when you get the chance. Those two have pieced together some great results. Toomnymods has the fastest track times we've seen yet with this motor.
FWIW, JBA seems to be among the best Performance Exhaust for this motor. It's designed more for perfomance than just sound. Burtman Industries sells it at a decent price.
For Cam HP gain, you'll have to find someone who Dyno'd before and after. Most can only tell you there's a difference on the high end and quote their 1/4 mile times. ClubTitan.org or TitanTalk.com is the place to ask.
Here's a thread on it: http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-performance-modifications/85870-jim-wolfe-cams.html
Here's the cam maker: http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/
'07 Intake Manifold - It's larger bored than 2004-2006 and allows alot more flow. You'll have to call the dealer for a price on an '07. A Nissan Armada/Titan manifold is the same as the QX so you don't need to pay inflated Infiniti prices.

Qx_indulgence 01-13-2009, 06:56 PM The 07' Intake manifold usually run from 150-170$, check on Clubtitan the members there will be able to let you know where the best deals are. Also when you add that on you will need a CUSTOM tune to get yr a/f ratio back in line. Same goes for the headers. The advantage of Uprev over Bully dog is that it is a custome tune tailored to your vehicle and you get several different maps such as Valet, 91 performance, 87, etc. Some of you guys with Uprev will be able to shed more light upon this topic.
scr38 01-13-2009, 08:49 PM The big plus with UpRev is the custom tune for all your mods. UpRev gives you a basic tune based on the mods you have, then you use their software to log all the parameters, and send the log to UpRev. They then make a custom tune for your vehicle, which you then upload to your ECU.
Another nice feature that UpRev has is the map switching. You can have up to five different maps loaded into your ECU, and can switch between them without having any equipment connected to your Vehicle. You use a combination of the Cruise Control buttons to switch between maps.
LCatGA 01-14-2009, 01:51 AM cams look like a bad candidate - most of the gains are in hardcore racing mode/high RPMs. Im practivly sold on uprev - my only question is how does it compares with Stillen or bully dog for performance gains(some tunners are better then others) but I think because of the rest of the mods I'm puting in I think custom tune will win. Also right now considering Stillen headers vs Nismo and Stillen dual vs Borla. They are a little bit cheaper.
