I saw an ad on Ebay where you pay $500 dollars plus a $400.00 deposit to have your OEM rims exchanged for a set of chromed OEM rims with the Nissan OEM caps. The question is has anyone tried those rims and do you think the chrome paint will last? I belive they paint those rims in chrome or use another method. Bidders seem to be really satisfied based on the feedback they left. However, will they be after 2 years?

I ALMOST did this.....BUT since I am VERY skeptical I passed on the exchange. If you do it, let me know how is goes.

the rims on those ebay thing are triple plated chrome they go through a process of coppper and zinc and whatever, so the finish is supposed to be good, they usually have a year warranty, so after that year who knows, I wanted to do it also but just havent yet. also I saw an auction for chrome rims with no exchage for about 600 so keep a look out that a better deal to me. also depending where you live the chrome will be subject to pitting and stuff and thats not warranty if you are where it snows

I did this and got my wheels from Capital Chrome Wheels in California. They are good to deal with and I got my credit for returning my original wheels very promptly.
I paid a good deal more than you listed on eBay, but I think the final cost comes out about the same. I paid :
$600 chrome oem wheels
$800 deposit till originals are returned
$200 shipping ($100 each way)
Final cost comes out to about $800 total. If you want to keep 18" tire size, it's not a bad way to go and the quality is good.
You get chrome caps, but you have to pop the Nissan logo from your originals to put in your chrome caps which are blanks as are the ones you get originally.
You can find Capital Chrome on line. They are ver old and established and stock these items as well as wheels for many other makes. They may not be the absolute cheapest, but they are close and much less expensive than others I researched. You also know where they are located if you have a problem.
They shiped the wheels UPS. They were very well packaged and got to me in Atlanta in about 3-4 days.
Hope this helps.

I think capital chrome is actually one of the people listing on ebay, but not 100%
If you like the stock QX56 wheels which are Chrome and are an exact fit and same weight as the stock wheels, you can get a take off set from Infinity or eBay for around $350 for wheels or $500-$650 for wheels and tires.
I got a brand new set off of a 2005 QX56 for $500 cash. This was for wheels and tires. Cheaper than just getting new tires.

Also if you have the time....check locally. I bet you can find a plating company near by. If you can put your Mada on stands for a few days...I'm sure you can get it done cheaper and no shipping. I know we have a plating company were I live.
