I have a very low mileage (37,800) '04 QX56 4x4 in Silver - FULLY, FULLY loaded with every available option (including Intelligent Cruise, which I searched long and hard for!) + more. When I originally purchased it it was my daily driver, and I wanted a fully loaded low mileage cherry like this. NOW, it is a third car and I really only use it on weekend to haul stuff around. I really don't need all the luxury features, and I don't haul anything dirty in it for fear of messing up the leather, etc.

I am interested to know if anybody in the area has an '04+ 4WD Armada (don't care trim level, but no 2WD or White Armadas please) that would be interested in trading up to a fully loaded model. I would only do this for (depending on specificaions/mileage of the armada) an Armada + ~$9500 in cash - which seems fair based on book and resale values I see. My truck (without upgrades) books out at $23,500: www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2004&Mileage=37800&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=21&ModelId=149&PriceType=Private+Party&VehicleId=2779&SelectionHistory=2779%7c30081%7c21144%7c0%7c0%7c10 9242%7ctrue%7c109245%7ctrue%7c109260%7ctrue%7c1092 80%7ctrue%7c109272%7ctrue%7c109287%7ctrue%7c109294 %7ctrue%7c109302%7ctrue%7c109321%7ctrue%7c109345%7 ctrue%7c109335%7ctrue%7c109353%7ctrue%7c540924%7ct rue&Condition=Good&QuizConditions=)

An '04 Armada SE 4x4 w 37,800 miles books out at $12,900: www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2004&Mileage=37800&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=35&ModelId=363&PriceType=Private+Party&VehicleId=3221&SelectionHistory=3221%7c30081%7c21144%7c0%7c0%7c&Condition=Good&QuizConditions=)

i thought you had given up on this? seeing that the economy is in the toilet i hear the deals at the dealer are pretty good right now. why not go get some numbers.

Many, many reasons, the first of which is that new car dealers don't want MORE cars they want less - so why would they give me good trade in? My mom just bought a new jeep (for super cheap with rebates) and to trade in her 2 year old toyota, mint condition with 17,800 miles guess what they offered her.....75% of low NADA trade in value. Basically said "we don't want to bother with this, we dont even care if we sell you the new jeep".

My other option is to sell my QX privately (not a problem) and then buy an Armada outright. Problem with that is new owner has to pay tax on my QX ($1050) and I have to pay tax on the Armada I buy ($750) so uncle sam takes nearly 2 grand out of the deal...2 grand that can be saved by an owner wanting to trade up from an Armada, and me who wants to get a cheaper "truck" suv.

Its sad sliding an 80" prehung door and frame into the back of a leather clad luxury SUV like I did last night at Lowes. In fact when I was at Infiniti for service I was complainging they were taking too long and only gave me an FX as a loaner so I couldn't haul some wood and scrap windows around I needed to...and the lady looked at me and said "You put WOOD in a $60k luxury infiniti?!?! Couldn't you get an old truck for that stuff?" lol. But no I need ANOTHER vehicle like I need a hole in the head.

Hope that explains it for ya! :)

Regarding the taxes, when ever I sell a car I let the buyer write in the purchase price. It's on their head.
