So I bought a 2009 Armada (finally) last night at 9 p.m. I drove it home and went to work at 0500 a.m. My wife called me at work this morning saying the parking brake light in on but it wasnt engaged. She stepped on it and now cant disengage it. Since I am at work all day can you save me from her burning out the brake. Does it have a release lever or do step on it to disengage it?

if it's a brand new car, it shouldn't have any problems.

This is how the ABS/VDC problem in my 2006 started. After a long painful process of multiple computer reprogramming, it finally was resolved by the total replacement of the ABS brake module, boost actuator, and some other components. I had to get the BBB Auto Line involved for resolution. It boggles my mind that new 2009s are having these issues. If this is that same problem, then Nissan needs to get their head out of their fourth point of contact and unscrew this issue because it is well documented on this board and others as a problem starting back with the 2004 model year.

To the OP, did you have to turn the vehicle off to get it to reset? If yes, welcome to my world. I would search this board and print off some posts on this and take it with you to the dealer. That actually helped to get the BBB involved and on Nissan's case in my incident.

Thanks for the major info. It happened for the first two days I had it so we took it in.

Only in the morning when first turning it on. My wife would take a different vehicle to work and come home later and the light would be gone.

The dealer today said they checked it out and there was NO light. I think they get to work later than me. I am currently in Wisconsin so maybe the cold has something to do with it.... moving back to SoCal soon so hopes and crossed fingers is all I got for now.

Carmax sent it to the local Nissan dealer for inspection. They did pull the info off the computer so at least we arent crazy.
