: rear seat issue

One of my rear captain chair seats will no longer "lock" to the floor no matter how hard I "slam" it down. Suggestions?

are you talking about the butt seat cushion? i dont believe that's suppose to lock

It's the whole chair. It back seat lifts forward on a "hinge" so that people can get to the rear bench seating. there are two "c" hooks in the floor so that the bottom back of the seat can attach, but the mechanism on the underside of the seat will not attach.

You might wanna check that there is nothing underneath the seat when you lift it forward.

Look at the lock assembly and see what kind of dirt has built up into the catch. cover the carpet with plastic and then spray it with some ether based cleaner then follow up with a bit of WD40 or gun oil.

fixed mine that way two years ago, and no issues since. FWIW
