Ok, Im considering buying a 2005 LE 4x4 it has 38000 miles on it. The Armada is really clean but it sounds like it has an exhaust leak. This is a private party deal. Does anyone know if Nissan will fix this under the power train or exhaust system warrenty? If so I would be the 3rd owner of this Armada. Does the warrenty transfer to the 3rd owner? I know the standard warrenty is over but certain componets are still covered right???? Thanks for the help

The powertrain warranty follows the vehicle, not the owner, so what sounds like is probably a manifold leak will be covered.

yea dude, its a 5-year or 60k powertrain, so as long as its within 5 years of its original date of sale you will be covered. i wouldnt let that leak hold you back from buying that thing!!

go with what everybody else is saying. it will be covered just dont mention the whole 3rd owner to the service dept. When I used to work for the dealer they would give ppl hard times if they bought it used, but they still fixed it they just like to give ppl hard times

I know for fact that exhaust is not covered on a 2005 under any warranty past the original 36k warranty. However, that leak is more likely to be a cracked Exhaust Manifold which is covered under the Emmissions Warranty because it's connected to the Cat. Like Fruh said, I wouldn't mention having bought it used, some dealers look for any excuse to deny warranty work. If I were you, I'd play dumb with the seller and see if they'd knock another $800 or so off the price in case you end up having to pay out of pocket. That'd also allow for a decent cushion for a new Catback system if it does turn out to be exhaust tubing instead.

the exhaust is not covered beyond the manifolds, but given the armadas habit of cracking its manifolds, i would bet the leak will be covered by the powertrain warranty, as mine was at 40k.

My manifolds were replaced under powertrain warranty at 59k
