Anyone here have the same problem that Im`m having, starting the Mada first thing in the morning and hearing the ticking sound from the engine rapidly, when the engine first start cold and when it warm up it`s goes away. Is this normal? Some ppl tells me its the lifters.

Somewhat normal, I hear it more during cold weather but within seconds it goes away.

Thanks guys I appreciate your help, I been having this problem when I hit 30,000 miles, I never had this problem before, since I bought it new and now its 60,000 and I try everything using fuel injection cleaning, gas treatment and I took it to the dealership to clean out the throttle, that did not help either.

As long as you have been changing you oil as recommended and using the correct grade and amount, there should be noroblem! :noworries

I found when I switched to a synthetic (Royal Purple), my enginenoise quieted down substantially, and I don't have to change my oil as often.

At first i thought my mada had low oil but turn out no. I call the derlership today and he said it just the wear on the lifters. I asked if there is any adjustment for the lifters? "he said they dont have any adjustment" Is our mada has a timing belt or chain? I thought usally when changing the timing belt they adjust the lifters, does anyone know?

CHAIN, but not sure about the adjustment of the lifters.

There is an adjustment for valve clearance, but its not a thing easily done or usually needed. There is no lifter as there is an a non OHC engine. We have lash caps, a cup that sits over the valve stem/spring. The cam lobes run against this cap to operate the valves. These lash caps come in different thickness, and the proper one is selected during engine assembly. Normally these would never be changed, but if a valve job is done the clearances must be measured and the proper cap installed.

Lifters can be the cause, but keep in mind that the exhaust manifolds are known to leak and this makes a similar noise and does vary with temp. One of mine was replaced last year, and now the other is making the same noise. Give us an update.

Sorry everyone for the delay, but I skip my appointment twice. I had to drive down to Florida twice. But I just got back and have it look at yesterday, they found nothing wrong. I waited 2 hrs for the Mada to cool down and had then check out the manifold like TopazM3 said there might leak. One of the tech there also said the Titan usually have that problem with crack manifold.
