Recall on 04 armada at dealership for rotors, bushings, and brakes and other upgrades. Its called a TSW, was told by a mechanic friend at dealership. Upgrade will be approved at dealerships at the end of july. All free under warranty.

I don't think there is any recall. Ir would be good if it was, but there has been no recal issued. Nissan is repairing the brakes, some with new rotors, pads and mounting hardware. There is a TSB out on the repairs, but I havent seen anything about a recall. The brakes are repaired or replaced only if the customer complains about judder, and the dealer can verify the problem.

so we probally should'nt bother unless we are experiencing some sort of brake disorder

They may do it. They recalled my brakes on my G35. Kinda a soft recall. They sent the G35 owners a postcard that said you could come in for a free brake job on them but didn't say recall anywhere. ;)

Correct. They won't do anything unless you are having a problem.

I wouldn't be surprise if this is a soft and quiet recall. My grandpa received a post card from Nissan. They asked him to bring his 1997 Maxima to the nearest dealer for an alternator replacement for free.

There is going to be no recall with the new vehicles due out in September. If there was a National Recall they wouldn't be able to come out with the 06 model until they fixed a percentage of the roblems. They will fix the brakes on a case by case basis. Just look at the amount of vehicle owners who just think it's normal or who really don't care. If you complain "alot" they will fix them.

My dealer hooked me up with a rotor turn at 4k miles and a full replacement of rotors & pads front and back at 6k miles--no issues at all. I would lean on your dealer if you have any sign of shudder or shimmy at all--they will respond.

I just picked up a 05 Armada LE last week. I just checked the rotors and they seem to be the new ones. I hope not to have to go through this. The brake pad dust these things put off are as bad as BMWs. After I get 10k miles on here with no brake issues, Ill change out the pads. Othewise I will let the dealer replace all of this stuff.

My 2005 Armada is at the dealer getting the new rotor kit... Hope this works.. I called Nissan USA and started talking about legal issues , like not being told about the brakes before I bought the truck in January. Funny they called out of the blue and said that my rotor kit was in..

I have no idea what this means. All Armadas/QX/Titans had the new parts if they were made from 5/05 on. Every '06 will have them. Every new vehicle in Sept will have them. Noone finds it normal but most understand the problem, which is a shortage of parts to cover the need. Complaining will do nothing. The dealers will install the new parts if avaiable or if you have had 3 visits prior. This helps delay the need for the new parts, buying the rotor and pad maker some more time to make enough parts.

Normal, no. But Toyota Sequoia had it worse and most makers have had similar problems. Supply should be catching up soon so no more rotor turning but again, in the grand scheme of things, it is a minor problem. ;)

I had absolutely no problems this Wednesday having a Nissan dealer install the TSB fix. I had the problem addressed at 3k miles and again at 7k miles and I just called a dealer and said "hey Im starting to get judder again can you do the fix?" They set a time and in I went, and out in 2.5 hours with new front rotors I did the comparison to the old ones and they turned the rear ones which were replaced at 7k miles. It seems it depends on what dealership you go to and is they have the parts in stock. Not alot of Armadas in Pittsburgh so I counted my self lucky. See ya on the road, or off the highway what ever shoe fits.

:fantastic

I was told NONE of the '05 trucks or Arms have the real brakes. As far as a manufacture recall goes it would be an aweful big one...Lots of 04's and 05's on the road.

Not true, but most, 1 year and 9 months worth. And this is Titans, Armadas and QX56. ;)

Better check again. If you have that much brake dust, you DON'T have the new pads. I HAVE the new pads and the brake dust is almost nonexistent. Brake dust = Tell your dealer :fullofit:

I have had the rotors turned twice alone, and have had 3 complete replacements in 35,000 miles. The last being the fix, we'll see.....
