My Wife's 06 Mada has started doing something strange. While excelerating from a dead stop there is hop/vibration in the 45-50 MPH range. I had the wheels and tires balance and rotated and that did not solve the issue. I have noticed that the out edges of the front tires seem to be scalloped. My next step is an alignment but I want to see if anyone else has had this issue. The vehicle running the stock wheels.
I think that if your alignment is out then it doesn't help much to balance the tires because they'll lose balance soon enough, but I could be wrong. I would ask a tire shop to look at the tires, a good tech can tell you the problem by looking at the wear pattern on the tires.

Pops it is a weird virbation it comes up through the steering column but the steering wheels never shakes or shimmys. It is almost as if the harmonic balancer is going bad.

TIA

our armada started shaking at around 45-50, eased up a little after that, got worse around 70. Took in to the dealer, they said the propeller shaft was bad, which they showed me as we were able to move it by hand, they replaced and all is good now
Go through this and see what you think. The only thing I can think of that might be bad would be a Hub Bearing.
