I have an '06 LE, Didn't come with the tow package so I had to install the hitch, add the required relays to make it work. I have a camper that needs a brake controller. I purchased the required wiring harnass at the dealer, connected it to the controller. What I did have to to is install the rear back up light conductor to the actual trailer plug because I have a boat that I tow that has surge brakes and you can't back up the boat without it.
Anyway- after I installed everything I tested it and I realized that the rear female plug doesn't have the conductor to control the brakes. Do I need to replace the rear trailer light harness to include the brake controller? Or is there a way that I can tap into the harness much like I did for the rear back up lights which would be much cheaper. Is there a lead at the rear harness for the brake controller and if there is which one would it be? Any help on this would be great! Thanks.

The factory plug does have a connector for the brakes.
The non big tow vehicles don't have the plug at the rear, as you know. But the harness for the trailer wiring does extend back to within a couple of feet from the rear. You can buy the harness with the trailer socket from the dealer and plug it in to the existing harness, and everything will work.
If you want to tap into the existing harness, the brake wire is the brown/white wire, pin #3 in the harness connection. It is pin #2 in the Nissan socket.
The back up wire is yellow/red, and is pin #7 in both the harness connection and in the Nissan socket.
I thought the Tow Package is standard on all LE models??? My 2005 brochure shows that it's a standard feature on an LE, not an option.

I thought it was standard as well. I have an LE, and it comes with the tow package...

Maybe its the SE?? I don't get too hung up on that stuff, I just know that my next Armada will have the complete towing package- I'm trying to get away from buying another trailer light harness-I'd would much rather just tap the conductor for the controller and run it to the plug rather than purchase another harness.-- My issue is just finding the correct wire on the rear harness. On the rear tail light harness there is several white #12awg, a green, and a brown w/a stripe which is to the plug already and is a tail or running lights. I may just have to spend a few hours tagging which wire does what.
I would call to see what you can get like one of these to work on your 2006 Armada:

Pops-
Thats the harness I purchased. I see the issue on their note that it only provides lighting for the trailer additional parts required which I have- the jumper harness and controller. What a pain in the butt!! The harness doesn't have the leads for the reverse lights or the brake control.
I'm seeing the Pathfinder one says "Please Read: Your Pathfinder wiring provides circuits for trailer brakes but does not provide power." The Brake Controller supplies the power. I haven't seen a trailer that has reverse lights on it.

None the less the harness that I bought from Courtesyparts does not have wiring for either the reverse lights and the brake control. All my Skeeter boat trailers have back lights and need that circuit to deactivate the surge brakes so a guys can back up. My brother in law has the tow package on this '05 Titan- I'll just copy his configuration and be good to go--hopefully.
What did they say when you called them to tell them it doesn't have the brake circuit or reverse light circuit???

Pops- I didn't call them- it's not worth the hassle. I just spent a little time to find and tag all the wires and what there function was. I found the brake control at the plug, tapped it and ran it to the 7 pin connector- just like I had to do for the reverse lights. It's a better set up than what I would have gotten from the factory- I noticed on my brother in laws Titan which has the factory tow package that they only run #18AWG for all the trailer lighting and brake control- I used #14 and #12 through out the harrness. Thanks.
