What are the typical mods people do? I image rims and tires, and tril would be near the top. Does anyone have experience with getting the aftermarket leather installed, or doing a nice dash kit? What about air intakes (dont' know if you would even need it since everyone talks about the power it come with standard).

I want to make a list of some of the top things, so I can build that into my budget when I go to buy my 06-08 Armada in a few months.

Thanks! I'm loving this community, as good as the Maxima one I have been a member of for years!

I've found that some of the first mods I usually see people do for power are intake, exhaust, and some kind of programmer.

Wheels/Tires is always a favorite, but it also depends if they want it lifted, lowered, or stock height.

Personally, since my truck is my daily driver...i did my stereo equipment first for my own comfort. Suspension is my next step!

HI. First I started with some sweet 24'' a week after I put a magnaflow exhaust. A must if you like to be loud. A two degree timing advance and Im planning to do the intake.

the first thing should be addressing one of the armads only weaknesess, the front struts. the stock ones are completly useless on anything but smooth new pavement. most of us have switched to bilsteins, either the 4600 or the 5100 series. if you've got the cash some coilovers are even better, the icon units being the top dog in that category. i did the struts/lift first, then wheels/tires, next is power/fuel mileage stuff. i'm thinking a gibson exhaust, injen intake, and the bully dog programmer. wish i could find someone to do the timing advance, though...

Another way of doing this would be to have us list some of our mods in the order we did them. FWIW, the factory wheels look pretty good when they're powdercoated Black too. :D

Myron & Davis DVD Player System - Tech12volt's package is awesome.

Billet Grille - I bought the cheap generic one from Burtman and I think it's great.

2° Timing Advance

Airbox Mod - I cut the tube out from the inside of the OEM airbox to allow more airflow.

Superchips Tuner - to replace the 2° Timing Advance - BIG Difference!!!! Flashpaq is the same device and software as the Cortex for less money.

PRG Mini-Lift

Better Tires

ProComp 6" Lift - to replace the Mini-Lift

Better Front Shocks - I got SAW's for heavy offroad use but the Bilstein 5100's are great on these trucks.

I think my next mod might possibly be to Bag the Rear next year or later depending on how well BlueBear's Air Bag project goes, so I can put on extended length shocks for more Lift.. :D

Free or cheap always seem to be the first to do, air box mod, 2* timing advance, debadging. Then whichever way suits you, intake & exhaust (gotta let them breath), wheels & tires, grill, sound system, the list is endless. And my newest nerf bars.
Just have fun doing it!!

And don't forget an alarm system!!

Obviously it depends on your priorities.... Mine were function and safety. First to go were the POS GY OEM tires. When Michelin came out with the Cross Terrains, on they went.

Next was the big brake kit from Stillen. It's awfully nice to have some braking reserve when towing.

Great stuff guys, so this is what I'm thinking, but need some explination on some of this stuff:
front struts
2° Timing Advance (what is this?)
chrome grill
bug deflector
new rims (not sure if I want 22" or 24")
new tires (something good that won't break the bank. I live in AZ, so the weather doesn't change much, but we hope to go skiing this winter, so a decent radial I guess)
intake (do I really need to do the exhaust, I don't want to make it sound like a ricer honda since I'm 40 and it's not a little street racer)
airbox mod (what is this?)

This car should only see about 10k miles a year, as I work from home, so my maxima will be the primary car. It is mostly a weekend warrior car for camping and fun stuff like that. I'm trying to find a way for it to be a write off for my business.

2° Timing Advance (what is this?) This adjusts your timing to a more efficient setting. Most of us who have done it have increased performance and responsiveness. Your Armada will react with the slightest touch on the accelerator.http://www.2degreeadvance.com/
