keep in mind I have know this stereo shop for 15 years.. they did work on my first car in high school.

It was ordered directly from Myron Davis. The 7" was still on backorder, but I'm glad because it's worth the extra $$ for the 9". Perfect size for the car.

also came with 2 wireless headphones..

As for the color, it's not very noticeable that it's off. My neighbor bought a new QX 56 and his monitor is black in a gray interior. Not sure if that's factory or what but it came with it like that in the showroom.

I'll have to check on the dvd player name. don't remember.

The piece in the console they added for $20 so that the player isn't just "hanging open" inside of there... looks a lot better and no visible wires to tangle up with...

I don't understand why he did not use a M&D DVD player. They have a 3 year warranty. I interface all my Armadas and QX56 with the factory system and I do not use the FM mod either. If any of you want the 9" let me know I have access to them. Steel or Willow are the colors. The price he gave you is very good. The car dealers down here are cheap, cheap. I have been in business for over 20 years. Heat, did you buy the vehicle at Weston Nissan? Like I said your buddy gave you a decent price, I just question the manufacturer of the DVD. As for the dvd compartment, it was a seperate piece that they had and installed... I am wondering about it though because the unit does get a little hot... maybe would be better without it ? Going back by my installer today to ask about that..

In the earlier picks the install is great but as he said "the color is a little off". Does Myron & Davis make an exact color match? :confused: I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

I'm not really sure on that one. I didn't get to see both grey colors in hand, or in truck rather....

My stereo guys told me that the other grey (steel) I believe, is much, much lighter, almost the color of aluminium or chrome... The medium grey, pictured above in my truck is pretty close and considering I saved almost $700 from the factory one, I can live with a tiny bit off on the color, besides, when flipped up, you don't even notice :)

Good to see a pro weighing in on this issue. I have an 04 LE with the steel interior and the factory DVD setup, but I (correction, my son, as I never get to watch) would like a bigger screen, like the 9" being discussed. I'm a long way from Florida in Austin, Texas, but could you give me a decent price on the 9" monitor kit for the Armada for self-install or shop here to install (I need to check with one of them). I figure the swap-out may not be difficult as I already am set up with the "lesser" screen, and I have a few wiring skills I haven't forgotten from 4 years in the Navy as an electronics technician (although that was a long, long time ago).

AND, if this all works out and someone wants a good deal on a factory monitor, I'd put it up here for sale. Wish I had thought all of this out before buying the factory unit!!

I believe you can hook up the video but I think there are some data connections between the factory dvd and the screen as well that you might loose. I would probably change out the dvd as well, for $150 you can get a dvd player that will play dvd+/-R, vcd and add a tv tuner. You'll have to run the video wire but thats really easy to do. Just my $0.02. You can integrate the aftermarket dvd with the wiring from your factory player so you maintain the same functions in terms of audio over the cabin speakers and the rear controls.

Have you done an install on an 04-05 Nissan Quest?

I just picked up my 05 Quest SE last week. I opted not to get the factory DVD system because for $1900 (MSRP of the dual screen DVD system) I felt I could get a much nicer set up...

So I found the M&D ANS190. I called M&D and asked about their AD212 player and the rep said it would have to be FM modulated and that they do not have the correct harness to hook up to the factory head. However, you are saying that it is possible? Also, do you have a suggestion for a DVD receiver with built in digital decoding? Mobile surround in the van would be very cool. :D

Hey everyone, I just picked up my truck after having the Myron & Davis 9" LCD installed and it looks and works great. By the way if everyone has the Gray headliner and console color in the 1st pic, the exact color match is Steel. My installer had samples of the interior consoles when I went to order the system, and it matched great. The Med Gray is lighter than the steel as you can see. Just my $.02. Hey why not go back and ask them to swap because the color is off, my installer asked me if I wanted a monitor installed until mine came in with the right color and it would be an easy swap....but the important thing is as long as it works. :goteam:

Thanks for the suggesstion, but really it's not the end of the world. I am more concered about other issues with the truck that are way more important that the color of the dvd player being a tad off, like the BRAKES......
and the pulling to the right..... and the a/c not blowing cold all the time.... etc... lol

My son watches the dvd and loves it.. he is almost 2 and could care less about the color of the outside :)

Hey Blizzard that is way too much money for that set up. First off you do not need the modulator. You can interface it with the factory radio. Even if you do not have the sub, you can interface it. I sell that setup installed for $950 all day. The company doing this install for you is making a homerun on you! Instead of the modulator you will need a pre-amp line driver. I use the Pac turbo-1 and it works great. It costs me $17.00. I also disable the IR transmistter in the M&D and use the factory one. I wish you were here in South Florida I could take care of it for you. As for color Steel and Willow are the only colors for the 05's. I would shop for a more reasonable price. At $950 I still make a decent buck. And my service is mobile. I come to you! Well, that is if you live in Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County! :-)

First of all, let me tell you all that I purchased a 2006 Armada SE w/Leather and Sunroof last Saturday - 8/27/05. Same day, went to Electronic Express...they SCREWED my stuff UP! Scratched my center console installing the dvd player, and cut up the center console where the dvd screen goes by trying to put in some pioneer screen...bottom line, looks like the kid down the street did it. At that time, I did not know that there was a dvd screen made to fit the Armada such as the M & D 9" that I am now looking to purchase. I went to Cartronics here in the Nashville area and they charge $999 for the screen plus $200 to install it. I have found the screen online for $749 and when they open tomorrow I will see if they will match the price. I plan to keep the Emerson dvd player that is already installed from Electronic Express. Instead of having Electronic Express fix the scratches, I plan to get them fixed myself and I will be getting all of my installation charges back to pay for it. Also, I am making them take out and refund the 8" Pioneer screen (in my husband's presence). I plan to use this money to purchase the other. Can I get some advice from you all? I'm NEW to all of this and right now I am pissed off beyond belief.

$200 to install is steep! All that is involved is removing 4 bolts pulling the console down, then removing 4 screws and putting in the M&D. running the cable is all of 2 minutes work (if needed, they may be able to use the cable you have already). I'd get them to match the price, install for free, and refund your previous install cost.

While I agree $200 is a little steep but not out of line with a high end vehicle. I charge that much for the total install if it is labor only. Then again I have a mobile business and the cost of gas, insurance and such are outrageous! Two minutes to run the cable from the screen to the center console takes a whole lot more than 2 minutes. Especially if you do not want to scratch anything. I take my time and Nissans in general are easy to take apart. You will need to have the cable run too, the Pioneer is different. I would also consider getting a better DVD too, the Emerson is Flea Market quality in my book.

$550 is a pretty good deal for the screen. I pay much less but I am buying them wholesale. Still a good price retail though.

I tried to call Dr. Eddies today, obviously closed for the holiday...but for $550, it would be worth it to see if they could ship it to Nashville for me and I could then have someone to install it. That total is for one monitor. The DVD is a M&D and does not have a tv tuner in it. They do not have anymore available with built in tv tuner. The headphones are Audiovox as I do not like the M&D headphones at all. The Audiovox are 1st class all the way. The turbo one is the pre- amp that you will use when integrating to the factory radio and you will be using the built in IR in the rear overhead. That means you have to disable the one on the M&D. I can have the units shipped direct from my distributor and the cost of shipping will be given to you when I have your address in order to give an accurate number. The units must be pre-paid before I have them shipped. Personal checks are ok and have to clear before shipping. Costs given to you are only marked up 10% from my cost. Warranties are manufacturer only. If you do not have it professionally installed they may not warranty there product. I will not warranty anything either since I am making next to nothing. If you feel comfortable with that it is a good deal. I have not had a single problem with this set up and I have put a bunch in. You can also email me if you have any questions.

Just out of curisoity, what do you charge for install for locals and where do you do the installs? I live in Lake Worth.

Why change out the factory dvd player??? -r dvds from my panasonic home dvd recorder work just fine. Is the 9" screen plug and playwith the factory set up ??? Have you tried fitting the 9" screen in the factory bezel??
