Don't know if this was posted yet but did you see these new spyshots of the 2011 QX56 being tested here in AZ? Heavy camo but you can see the lines.

It's based on the Patrol, Nissan's "large" SUV sold in other markets.

It IS smaller than the current QX56/Armada. Nissan has been talking about this for a while.

The big question is about the Armada. While moving to the Patrol makes some sense for the luxury market, it doesn't make sense at all for the Armada. Most of us all bought the Armada for features the Patrol doesn't have (size, power, towing capacity, etc.).

There's also the question of the Titan's continued existence since the Chrysler deal is gone. Do the Titan/Armada continue? Get a refresh/redesign? Cease to exist?

I know SUVs and trucks aren't the cash cows they once were, and may never be again, but there will always be a demand for such vehicles. I wish Nissan would adjust and continue making both, just a lower volume. Given how the market is, I don't think we'll have the same truck companies that we have today, and it would be an opportunity to grow their market share. But only if they continue today with what they have.

dont like it, it looks way too small. If my Armada gets old by , i will purchase another Armada dont play with me. I dont like the way that car looks. why the vehicle has plastic all over it?

The reason for plastic, is to hide what the vehicle actually looks like..:D:D:D

Here's a couple of undisguised shots. Look like cell phone pics, but give you a better idea.

Not great, but not as bad as I envisioned.

EXACTLY what I thought... me no likey.

Like mangarete said, if this is the new body style, I'll certainly pick up an older one the next go-round.

from the secon pics.. i dont like the fender air ducs..
also.. this just might be a prototype car.

final look may vary

but if u pay attention.. the front bumper and the fenders are all one piece.. good luck getting that thing fixed if u get in a accident..

they've made it too feminine in my opinion.. the 08 models are way nicer

It will lose the style it currently has that sets it apart.

Its from the same platform as the 2010 Nissan Patrol. Of course different front end, rear tails and some interior tweaks.

In reference to the front end, its not a one-piece bumper to fender assembly. There are seams but so nicely done, it does look seamless as with the rear.

supposedly the interior is the best interior ever made for an Infiniti. We will just have to wait and see.

just like the new 2011 M coming out, I'm sure the 5.6L in that is going to include the VVEL technology, and better engine components to make it more performance instead of towing

I remember seeing what Infiniti was planning on doing with the QX back in 08. It looked a lot like the Ford Flex. Smaller and sleeker. I see where this would work with an Infiniti and I am sure there is a market for the nissan one as well. But don't name it the QX56 or the Armada. Because it is neither one of those vehicles. We have a need to move 6 people and when that need goes down here in a few years this might be something we would consider...as we are already eyeing the FX's
Would really like to see what the final product would look like. Our QX is kind of an oddball. It is pretty much just a fancy Armada. Does not really mix well with Infiniti IMO.
But love it!

I'm down sizing due to SUV fever, but when I go big again. I want the current Armada size to compete with Tahoe and the likes.

The new car is just the Nissan Patrol with trim changes. Now the Patrol was redone with many Armada/QX chassis/engine pieces, so their is a lineage.

As with all new cars, this model, 7 model years newer than the current QX/Armada, will be stiffer and quieter. Being a world chassis, it will probably be a touch smaller. Electronics and other components will be updated to the current spec.

It sells against the Land Cruiser in other markets and will probably be priced accordingly. At that price point (around $70k) it will get only a portion of current QX buyers and probably none of the Armada buyers.

At that price, it will be second most expensive product in the Nissan lineup, after the GT-R. The GT-R is not that good a seller, with many dealers having 2 or more in stock. However, Nissan made the mistake of selling that as a Nissan rather than an Infiniti, which undoubtly hurt sales at $80k (the probably used the Corvette as a marketing reference and wanted the bigger dealer network, no realizing that buyers in that price range want the Infiniti like purchasing experience.

The QX is being sold as an Infiniti and will avoid that. But as the only serious SUV at Infiniti and $10+k more than the next most expensive model, it may face a tough market.

the front end could possibly be ok...except for those ridiculous side vents. what is that? replicas of the wal mart stick ons...just horrible.

The rear was stolen from a sequoia...

I've always disliked the back door handles being up high and different.
I agree, the front end looks o.k., not sure about the rear and the size.
