2006 Nissan Armada with 44K miles

We purchased our Nissan Armada SE this summer and now that it's turning cold we're wanting to run the heat. The fan is putting out a good amount of air but it never gets warm. We dial up the temperature to be 90F and it still blows the same temperature of air.

The outside temp is about 65F so I'm thinking it shouldn't be the difference in cabin-to-outside air.

I've tried this in both "Auto" mode and manual settings mode. 2nd row seats are getting cold air as well.

Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Welcome to CA Cull!

What is your temperature guage reading and is the engine warmed up? The reason why I ask is if it is running a little hot, there may be a thermostat issue.

Its probably a bad heater water valve.

I'm hoping you're meaning what was the digital temperature reading of the outside air which was 65F at the time.

The air blowing from the vents appeared to be the natural ambient temperature although I wasn't taking a reading at that time.

The engine was warmed up. I was driving it around the neighborhood until the engine temp raised up to the normal operating temperature.

Thank you for any help.

Hello scr38,

Is there a way I could test this out before I order that part? Is this even a part I could replace myself or should I have my mechanic replace that for me?

Thank you for the suggestion!

With the engine running, up to operating temp and the heater on hot, feel the two hoses that attach to the heater water valve. If they are both hot that means water is flowing through the valve. If neither hose is hot, or one is hotter than the other, then the valve is not open, letting hot coolant flow through the heater core. Check to see that the electrical connection to the valve is making good contact.
There have been several valve failures reported here and on ClubTitan.
This is a part you can replace, but you must be sure the engine/coolant has cooled down before you remove the hoses from the valve.
