Somehow Nissan will bring a successor to the Titan pickup truck to market, although it's not known how or when. In an interview with InsideLine, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said that the Titan will remain. "Titan will have a replacement," he said. "We are staying in the large pickup truck market."
The next Titan was expected to be a rebadged version of the new Dodge Ram, but Chrysler canceled plans for that project shortly after emerging from bankruptcy protection.
That being said, Nissan may continue to use an updated version of the current Titan's platform, which also underpins vehicles like the Armada, Pathfinder, Xterra, Frontier and Infiniti QX56.

The Titan has been a very successful car for Nissan. Why would Nissan have considered re-badging a Ram?

The Titan is getting pretty old, particularly in the highly competitive pickup truck market. I don't think anybody's full-size truck has been around since 2004, like the Titan has. Ditto for the Armada. Renault/Nissan wasn't willing to make the huge investment necessary to come up with a new design, and instead chose to buy somebody else's (Chrysler).
It's about time for a major update on these vehicles. They were way ahead of the competition when they came out, but now, they're at best equal, possibly behind in some areas. Compare horsepower. 305 (now 317) used to be world-class, but even Ford is doing that now! Chevy, Toyota and Ram are way ahead on hp. If I were in the market today, I'm not sure I'd be driving away in an Armada or Titan, because the competition has moved and Nissan hasn't.
What's new today is old tomorrow!!

i will disown Nissan if they rebadge a gay as dodge ram!!! I hope nissan big wigs read this! I will not buy another nissan if they do so! I agree they do need to update the trucks and SUVs but they were ahead of their time and the motors still kick the big 3s and pretty tied w Toyotas Tundra! They should come out w an real offroad package and a street package truck like Toyota and i say go away w the ugly a$$ crew cab super long bed truck! lol!

I agree that Nissan should re-do the Titan/Armada! I like what they've done with it thus far and luv mine (08 Mada SE/tow)! It however is obvious that the others are in it to win it with upgrades to match or beat the compitition who ever that might be. Look at the Toyota Tundra/Sequoia! If that isn't a direct answer to the Nissan Titan/Armada (that was kik'n their %@$$* with their whimpy (for a V8 truck) 4.5 liter engine and 16" wheels), then I don't know what is? I've done a direct comparrison in person as well as looking at the specs and if it were not for the obvious "Toyota look" you might say it is an updated Nissan. Honestly, 5.7 liters! Up 1/10 or 100 cc's from Nissan's 5.6 compared to GM's 6 liter, I mean really! Nissan should go after the BIG DOGS in trucking, GM & Ford! That'd really make Toyota swallow hard after investing in their new truck because it'd be a long time before they'd be ready to do it again.
Unfortunately you have to look at the reality of the times. Sadly big trucks are not popular in this "Eco sensitive" "climate crazy" "enviro luney" world! Nissan is, I'm sure is looking at the bottom line in investing in such a venture (look at the Skyline, popular 1st year release in US, sitting at dealers now), they have to ask them selves if it would be worth the investment? Would it sell in these times? I personally think it would and I hope they bite the bullet and take the risk and answer back to Toyota!
I guess one could say I'm a Nissan loyalist (my 7th since my first 720 P/U back in 81)! I've had pretty good success with the Nissan product and I see no need to change. Sure I've owned others, 99 Chevy Venture (still have, runs good), as well as a 91 Toyota 4runner (ran good up till now, son broke it, tire de-laminated and T/O electrical) and several Mitsubishi's, jury is still out on those, got'em cheep! In the end for me, Nissan wins!
