First off, love my 'Mada...2010 Black Platinum. i am here in the KC metro and we got blasted with several feet of snow over the last serval weeks and driving this you don't even notice.
anyways, i have two quick questions....
1) on Music Box, can I store my ipod music to a compact flash card, put that in the slot, and then store all that music to my hard drive in the car?

2) is there any neat perks or tips or tricks with using the XM with the navigation? a dealer mentioned there are some features that are pretty cool that you can do with Nav if you have XM? anyone know?

I greatly appreciate all your help!

1. no. you can store your music (has to be non DRM'ed) onto the CF card and insert it there but you cant dump the CF card onto the HDD nor vice versa. you only can record from a CD into the HDD.

2. need more info on what perks you mention. if you have xm traffic, that alerts you to realtime traffic if its reported in your area. you can speak your selection and the system will tune to it.. not sure what perks the dealer said...

i have a 08 with the same system....

FYI...

You'll find that many of your newer artists information may come up incorrect when you add the music to your box. You'll end up having to update the song info manually.

1) The musicbox burns cds. Thats it.
2) The "out dated" compact flash card works only with mp3. Apple music, or music you downloaded on your i... will not work. There is many websites thou that will convert your music into mp3 format. Find a trusted site. They are usually free to. Also, the HDD flash card only has 2g. I got a 4g card just cause they don't sell the 2 no more unless you buy from ebay.
3) Your nav is forever. What will cost after the subscription is up is the xm radio/traffic. I'm sure you know about the radio part. The traffic part gives you real time traffic, current driving time, etc. About $18/month once the subscription is up. Your nav will still be there thou.

I'm all about my iphone into the aux jack. I can't live without Pandora and Rhapsody. Radio stations suck!
