I upgraded my tires to from 'P' to 'LT'. I would like to keep them at 55 psi to get the best wear/ride/MPG possible (they are rated for a max of 80psi). How can the upper limit on the TPMS system be reset so that the dash light does go on?

TJ - sorry, I can't answer your question, but I do have some questions for you. I'm assuming you went to LT tires for towing, correct? What year is your Armada, and do you have 18's or 20's (different years had different size wheels)? What brand of LT tire did you buy? Have you noticed any changes in how your Armada drives? Ride? Handling? Gas mileage? Noise? Improvements in tow performance (stability, etc.)? A bunch of us on the forum tow with our Armada's and I know that I'd be interested in hearing more about what you've experienced.
Thanks in advance,
Keith

I did buy them for both towing and for better traction. I have the 18" rims and the tires are the Duratrac 275/65/18. When I have 55-60 psi, they seem much more stable (sidewalls) for towing. My RV is only a 25' (about 6000lbs). I also enjoy driving on the ORV trails and the OEMs would not clear the mud out of the tread. These are a nice compromise (very aggressive, buy a lot less noise than MTRs I had on my last vehicle). The overall diameter barely changed, so that the speedo is still pretty accurate. Gas milage varies quite a bit on PSI. Mixed driving (1/2 highway, 1/2 city) get 15 MPG at 60 psi, <13 MPG at 35psi.
45 PSI should be plenty enough for those tires on a 1/2-ton towing less than 900-lbs hitch weight. I definitely wouldn't run them over 50-psi on a 1/2-ton for any reason, that's just asking for excessive treadwear IMHO.. I'm running mine at 43-psi and Nitto Tech Support confirmed it to be the correct recommended psi for my situation towing my TT.
My MPG are terrible at 35psi too. I found the breaking point to be 38-40-psi. Then I found i needed a hair over 40-psi to eliminate any and all sidewall squat. So i ended up at 43-psi then called w/o telling them where it's at now and they came back after calculating and said 43-psi is best.

TJ - thanks for the response, I'll definitely consider those when I have to replace my Michelins.
Bob - are your tires LT, or P rated?
