: Installed SilverStar Bulbs

I just installed the SilverStar high Beam and Low Beam bulbs this afternoon and it took no more then 10 minutes for all 4 bulbs to be removed and the new ones put in their place. I can't wait to see how they look tonight. tomorrow I think I will pick up the silverStar fog light bulbs and upgrade the stock bulbs. Because of the instructions on this site it made the replacement a snap. I only removed one screw to get to each of the low beams and the high beams was even easier to get to.

I installed some today on mine and they make a huge differance .They are soooo much whiter then the stock ones. Well worth the money in my opinion . I can't see spending the $400 for low beam HID then another $400 for high beams and then more for the fog lights ! If money was no object for me then it would be no problem. But I don't have it like that .

According to a post i saw on here the part number is 880. I beleive that 881 is the current part, but the 880 is the part for the SilverStar's. I was told that the PIAA lights were even better then the SilverStar's and they are priced at $80 per set, but they don't have fog lights so I would rather have all three sets identical.

Correct. I've sell the piaa, and v.s. the silverstar, I like the Piaa's much more. I can go into more detail as to why if anyone wants to know. The piaa's aren't avail for the fogs, but I have the heads here:

The fogs are not 880 or 881, those will not work, the owners manual is wrong  Try the 889, there are some other #s that will work but that is what I use for the fogs.

sorry to be so naive but how hard is it to replace bulbs on my 06 LE 4x4?
You guys talk about 10minutes; another said 3 minutes. Can someone give me a quick primer and how to do it.

Sorry, not very mechanically inclined.
Thanks to anybody......

It took me about 5 minutes per side.

First, turn your Mada on, turn the steering wheel all the way to one side so you have more room to acces the bulb, turn off the car and your wheel is locked to one side. You have to remove one bolt inside the wheel well liner, and then you can acces the bulb and turn it, then pull it out. You can also barely see the bulb if you open up the hood and use a flash light.

Make sure to not touch the bulb, handle it only by the plastic end.

Fog Lights were very easy, just crawl underneath and turn back of bulb and pull, replace with new bulb and turn it the oppisite way you took it out and you are done.
