I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I keep forgetting. Let's see if I can describe this so you all know what I am talking about.

Okay, there is a little "cut-out" right between the map lights. There's a small light source in that that shines very dim...and for the life of me I can figure out what it is!!! The light you see is from my flashlight so that you can see the "cut-out" I am referring to!

I've attached a pic for reference so you don't think I am going nuts.

BTW, this is on my '09...can't speak for the other years!

Play with the dimmer switch for the gauge cluster and you well see the light change.

I think Nissan considers this "ambient" or "mood" lighting. It provides subtle lighting for the console area.

Okay. I see that it dims and brightens with the dimmer switch. But why??? I don't see much use for it. My display plus the lighting on the controls/buttons is plenty! I guess it has to serve a purpose...i guess???

but yeah i guessed it was ambient lighting. my VW jetta had the red led ambient lights up top and they looked cool!!! the armada lights do light up the console area a touch.. but lol.. yeah i dont think this is in the manual...
