So I just purchased a viper 5901 alarm with remote start. Apparently I need a module for some type of bypass from what my local shop is telling me. Man, I would love to do this myself but have no trust in my abilities to do it myself. I have an 07 Armada and want to know which one I need and where I can find it for a decent price? Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

I'm not too familiar with the E-bay bypass..... But the ones on the first link are top notch!

bypass module only needed if you're doing remote start.

you can use DEI U-555 or U-556 but required a key to be inside the box

This newer bypass module does not required a key

so the reason folks needs a key inside the car is because they dont have a bypass box? is that the difference?

so if i get that top of the line viper with remote start and grab this bypass box, i will not need to keep a key in the car???

The bypass module require you to put a chipped key inside so the it can read the transponder when remote starting.

The newer module just read and "duplicate" the infos in your key.
That way no need to put a key inside your vehicle.

You only need a Bypass if you are getting an Auto-start.... and some Bypass' do not require that you leave a key under your dash.
Hope this helps...
