Hello,
I just bought a 2010 Nissan Armada and notice a chemical smell in the cabin. The smells comes and goes. I took it to the dealer but they couldn't find any problems. Please advise me if anyone else has had or is having this problem. If so can you please advise me on the steps I need to take.
Thank you!
I'd go ahead and have them change the In-Cabin MicroFilters if it were me.

It's called NEW CAR SCENT. No change the filters
I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer 'detailed' the car with some cheap products and that's what you're smelling. It always amazes me when you see a dealership attempt to detail a brand new vehicle and use the cheapest products they can find. Then they allow someone with no body work experience to take a random orbital buffer to the pristine paint and leave swirl marks all over it.
Phew, I feel better now. :D
Sorry about the smell in your new truck. It may just be some kind of lubricant or something under the hood or on the exhaust that's burning off. Or maybe a label that was left on the exhaust tubing possibly? I've had that happen to me once when they replaced the exhaust in a former car.
I'd try what pops and cjcorrea recommended, and if it doesn't go away after a week or so take it to a real body shop and have it fully detailed soup to nuts. They should be able to clean whatever may be on your interior.

A lot of us are noticing an exhaust smell in the cabin lately. Most of us find nothing visibly wrong with the exhaust system. I feel three things could be causing this:
1. Cheaply refined Russian gasoline which is on the market (open your windows and see if you get the same smell when other vehicles pass you -particularly if they are accelerating).
2. Possibly the ethanol content of new gasolines changing the character of the exhaust.
3. A new thought I have is that the slip rings in the exhaust system are leaking. Go to a good exhaust/muffler shop and ask them to check these out.
I'm going to do #3 myself. My 2004 Armada has been doing this for about 6 months now and it is annoying.
Good luck

I took it to the dealer over a week ago. Didnt smell the fumes for a few days. Yesterday and today the fumes are back. If people all over are having this problem, then someone should be held accountable. I've only have my truck for approx. 4 months, my son has asthma and I am not going to keep a truck that I have to drive around and breath in chemical fumes.

I think it is time we all complained to the National Highway Safety Administration about this to bring pressure on Nissan.
Google the agency and write them a letter please. If all of us write, then Nissan will have to pay attention to this.
....and in response to the other post questioning Russian gas in the States, I don't know where you reside, but here on Long Island, NY, there are Russian gas stations all over the place. Maybe you just don't reconize the brand.
Don't be surprised if the other brands are using it also. The stark fact is that when the tanker pulls into your local depot, that's the gas that ALL the local stations use, despite the fact that the oil companies want you to believe that they are different. It's nonsense. Wake up America!

Oh, one more thing. The gas stations ( among many) in the Eastern US which use exclusively Russian gasoline are called LUKOIL, for those of you who don't know it.
