When I started to do research on my new Nissan, I came across this site that showed me everything I needed to know about how to buy a new car. There are more ways than you could think of that the dealership makes money off of every sale; doc fees, holdbacks, finance charges, and so many more. I went to the site and they sent me free information on how to negotiate with a car dealer, all the ways the car dealer is making money off of me, and how to purchase a new car at invoice price. After reading everything that they sent over to me, I was much more educated on the buying process and wanted to share that with all of you. I printed out the email, brought it to the Nissan dealership, and I walked out of there paying less than invoice price. If you are in the market for a new Nissan, this is some must read information and it is free. Take a look and please post any other advice you might have to help others about buying a new Nissan.

I have not visited a dealership in 10 years, yet have purchased several new cars, including my 2004 Armada. I do my research and then send e-mails to the Internet Sales Departments for dealerships in 75 mile radius. I tell them what I want and what I am willing to pay for it. Typically, I start well below invoice, fully well knowing that the hold-back paid to the dealer post sale amounts to 3-5 % of the MSRP. I also tell them I want an out-the-door price, without any BS dealers fees or anything else but the price of the vehicle and tax. Doing it this way really takes the dealership out of its comfort zone as they want you in their lair and to be in control of the transaction. I spend much less time and it makes sense that by not having to pay a salesman, I can get a better deal from the dealership. The key is to have your financing in place so you can pull the trigger on a good deal. I have never tried to negotiate a trade-in using this purchase method and would not. If you have a trade, try to sell it before you negotiate with the dealership. By simplifying the transaction you give the dealership "sharks" fewer ways to extract money from your back pocket and never forget that dealerships are the best when it comes to getting the last cent from you.

100% correct peglaws!

I actually think newp2224 is a troll and I am trying to pull him/her out! He has to prove me wrong if he/she isn't. Others have posted the same BS before. Always leary of first posts with links and ambiguous info about what they got with no concrete info!

Not to mention when I logged on the other day, there were 5 very similar posts all from the same person. Slight variations, under different sections of the forum, but all pointing to that same site.

Now I see this is the only one left...
