For several weeks I have been hearing an annoying noise from under my 2004 Armada. At slow speeds people were staring at me as to why my Armada sounded like it was falling apart. Something was loose and it appeared to be major. Sounded like muffler or shocks/struts. I replaced both anti sway bar end links (which by the way the approximately 4 inch straight steel piece was bent into an s shape on both sides) and this did not solve the issue. It almost made me stop driving the vehicle as I could not find the cause. The entire vehicle rattled from front to rear. I again put the vehicle on a lift and finally discovered that one screw (of 4) was loose on the metal shield covering the front sway bar and which must be removed to get at the oil filter or to compress the front struts. I am amazed that one corner of the shield could produce such a great volume of noise. Don't overlook this possibility if it seems your entire suspension is falling off. I promise that for whatever reason this part, if not tight, will make you crazy!
