: Price quote on '10 Platinum
Jayson 04-15-2010, 07:07 AM I did the internet quote with my local Nissan dealer for a 2010 Platinum Armada with Captains seats and floor mats. With a MSRP of $53,660 they quoted me a price of $48,499.00...then the dealer called me later and said they forgot to include the rebate of another $4,000. I thought that was a decent price for just fishin on the internet.
I currently have an '05 Titan and really love it...Just paid it off and I'm keeping it, but was looking at an Armada or a Ford Expedition for the wife's vehicle. She currently drives a Mazda cx-9, but wants something a bit bigger. I'm thinking the Armada and Titan would look good in the garage.
9balllrook 04-15-2010, 11:49 AM If she thought she was "zoom, zoom" ing before, wait til she gets into that Mada!! I haven't looked a pricing as I'm not inthe market, but it seems like a decent deal.
Welcome to Club Armada!!
randyward 04-15-2010, 03:00 PM $44500 is what I paid for a Plat in Jan with captain's + mud guards+organizer. I'm assuming FWD?

ntrddragn 04-15-2010, 04:44 PM thats about inline with what edmund has as the market value of what others has paid. dont forget the dealers has holdback incentive. so even if they sell it to you under invoice they willl probably get 1000 for it. invoice is 49,279. i suggest you work with that number and add in taxes and fees. and tell them you want xx,xxx out the door. i think you will be better off if you have a loan pre approve also. i suggest getting loan and gap insurance from a credit union. we got gap for 250 while the dealer were charging 800. 250 is pretty much close to cost.
twiskus 05-04-2010, 11:56 PM I love how the car business is the only business people think shouldn't be allowed to make good profits...I mean, hell, you go buy a gatorade at walgreens and the MSRP is 1.49 and the cost is 60 cents...no one's *****ing that they are making too much and we are dealing with a 54k vehicle here. I would say that should command a fair profit of at least 2k above invoice. The hold back is to pay for the floor plan to have the vehicle even available to the public, it isn't magic money that the public should go after...I KNOW how the car business truly works and people are WAY off in their thinking and most of that is thanks to garbage magazines like Consumer Reports. People don't realize that while they think CR is doing them a favor, they are really clubbing you over the head for a 5 dollar issue that costs 1 buck to print...Sorry for the rant

The big difference between your Gatorade model and the car business is that the profit stream for the Gatorade stops with the original sale. You don't take your Gatorade back for service and/or repair. The auto profit stream can continue for the life of the vehicle (that is, if the dealer has reasonable costs, good customer service, etc).
Caveman 05-05-2010, 10:39 AM Walked out the door with my 2010 plat @ 43,600. 2nd row Captain chairs and the works. I'm a happy camper.

2WD or 4WD? What was the MSRP?
Caveman 05-06-2010, 08:36 AM 4WD and the sticker was 53,660. The VPP "A" plan is advertised as 4.5 % below dealer invoice plus any incentives so I also got the 4K rebate on top of that.
mangarete 05-06-2010, 09:58 PM Good purchase camper!!!!
Just wait a month or two to see if gasoline gets anywhere near $4.00 a gallon. If so, they will practically lose money to unload an Armada. That is how I got my screaming deal last year on a 2009 LE 4WD. I got $17,000 off of sticker (including a rebate of $6k).
Good luck!!
marctronixx 05-10-2010, 11:15 PM yeah 3.25 a gal (93 octane) here in ATL... DA hell?
