Hey guys, actually my Dad just bought an Armada about 2 months ago and now he feels he needs a 4 door pickup instead. He asked me to help him sell it and thought I would ask your opinion to see what I should ask for it. It's a galaxy black LE with graphite interior. Sticker was $48k+. Has everything...the nav, dvd, sunroof, etc. Also just turned 3k miles. There is no wear on the vehicle at all...dings or scratches, and only 1 person sits in the Armada, just him. Basically it is new but I know you always take a nice hit when you buy a new car. Just wanting a little advice, or at least what I should put it on ebay for. Thanks a ton!!!

They say as soon as you drive out the door it drops $10,000. Too bad it is not silver :(

You can get a brand new one from the dealer for 41,711. (Carsdirect price). I think your going to take a bigger hit then you expect, according to KBB.com trade in is worth a little over 35K. Also, becaused it used some people might have a hard time financing it.

Good luck.

Depending on how much you paid for it, you may take it in the shorts...the rule of thumb is if it you buy a car plan on keeping it for a minimum of 3 years unless you don't mind losing soe of the value in it. As far as financing goes you can easliy get a loan for a used car when it's still very new and low mileage.

Not with Tech Pkg, DVD, and 4x4. Still, I'd expect mid to upper 30s. You'll take a bath. Why does he want a pickup? I thought about it and for the few times I would use a pickup bed, I figured I could buy a trailer for a grand or even rent one from Uhaul and tow it. More capacity than a pickup, don't have to worry about getting it scratched or dented or dirty, and still have all the benefits of the SUV the rest of the time. Just an idea. ;)

92 TB, we must htink alike because I had the same idea of just picking up a nice flatbed railer and using it instead the bed of a pickup. I can actually haul more with the trailer and don't have to worry about trashing the Mada.

Same here. I have had a pickup (actually 4) for the last 13-14 years and finally sold the PU and my Lance camper. No more campin' unless its on the ground. Summer vacation in a house on a lake with a sandy beach instead of campin'. Yard is 99% done.
I'd like to get an enclosed trailer for the dirt bikes that would eventually fill it, but that makes it a bit harder to haul some things than an open trailer. Trucks were always a 3rd vehicle too, so now down to two. If I really need a pick up then I can borrow my friends Titan :o or rent a trailer for now! I have also learned to use the "delivery" option. :D
