I've got a 08' 4X4 SE. It was in an accident and supposely it was fixed, then found out the frame was bent, they then replaced the frame. My problem is when I go over a speed bump at about 5mph there is a thunking noise on the upward travel. It seems like the noise is only on the passenger side, and it's pretty loud. It almost sounds like it is hitting the bump stop, but I cant tell where it is coming from. First the dealer said it's maxing out the suspension and is normal, then they said it's not normal and looked at it for the last 2 weeks, now they are saying it's the front axles maxing out and it's normal. I need help! I can't believe anything is maxing out on a full size 4X4 when you go over a speed bump going that slow. Anybody know if this is normal? Or is something wrong.

Request (demand) that they take you for a ride in a similar vehicle from the lot and show you that it does the same thing. When it doesn't, then make them figure it out.

^^^ x2 ^^^ Also make sure that there is still a bumpstop and they didn't forget to put one back on that side. The bumpstop is supposed to prevent anything else from hitting if it's in OEM specs.

Also, an alignment shop can check the alignment.. If the Caster is out of spec then the repair was not successful because only a bent frame or suspension components can throw the Caster out of spec and can cause all kinds of havoc.

Thanks for the anwsers, I've been going round and round with the dealer and the insurance, next on the list is for my lawyer to demand they total it. I just wanted to be certin that it's not supposed to be like that. I'm pretty sure it time to go on to the next step.
