is the 08 nav system touch screen?
if the 08 has only the radio can that be taken out and a aftermarket nav/radio be put in?

08 Nav is NOT touch screen. I believe it is voice prompt capable.

I have not seen a dash kit for the 08 models yet as the system is pretty well connected together.

I have an aftermarket system from Kenwood which allowed me to install a touch screen/nav/audio/dvd system integration without losing my stock controls.

here's a link to my setup:

i have to disagree with my buddy rocken...

the nav screen is touch capable and the 08+ is voice prompt capable.

bayea, what exaclty are you wanting to know about the armadas screen?

I have a camera in my horse trailer to see the ponies. I want to be able to see them on the dash screen.

We don't like the push button nav. We like the touch screens, plus you can see it easier.

Connecting in an external camera may be another hurdle... The OEM system does not use RCA cables like most aftermarket systems do...

TVandNav2Go might have something to make it work since it won't matter if it's a DVD Player or a Camera, but that's probably something you'll want to find out before deciding on getting the OEM Nav system.

What type of budget do you have? The cheapest and easiest way of viewing the horses from inside the truck is a wireless back up camera set up and wire it to a toggle switch instead of the reverse wire. Mount the camera in the trailer and the lcd screen you would have to mount on the dash somewhere.

TO integrate it into the existing lcd screen will be alot of custom wiring and I would be reluctant to have someone tap into that on my truck not to mention the expense.

plus the OEM camera position would not yield you any good viewing angle as its low on the rear. an optional camera may be your way to go as noted above...

STL, i replied to your message in the other thread. its not worth your time and energy to try and install an oem system in a vehicle not designed for it.

and dont hijack this thread... :D
