I had a previous issue with vibration and misc erratic behavior with my Armada (Alignment (http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16499&highlight=vibration) ...

But now I have some new stuff!

Anyway here's whats happening (I am still under extended warranty):

- I hit 40-45 MPH and I have a clicking coming from the steering column through to the steering wheel. It is mechanical and had to determine if it is the u-joint, or a lower steering assembly issue.

- I hit 75 MPH the same issue happens above, but I feels like the damn thing is going to fall apart because of the "extreme" vibration and hopping all over the road.

I have inspected the drive shaft and the u-joints on that appear to be good...
So is there anything that should have the dealer look at to hopefully remedy the issues?

TIA...

I got a recall notice about the lower control link in the mail just the other day. Any chance your vehicle had it replaced, and got one of the bad ones? If you have the original LCL from being manufactured, it is not affected by the recall.

There have been some steering racks that have cracked, that could cause it... I'd have the rack checked and also the balance on the front CV half-shafts...

Both posts above look promising....

- So have the steering rack checked/inspected...
Hey pops, is there a check "what to look @?" I have to change the oil this weekend and figure if I am under there I can do a visual inspection....

- I have the original LCL, but might wanna have them check that (only a small fraction affected, but what the heck!) Is this the proper recall NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 10E019000 (http://www.autorecalls.us/aut-04/recalls/2005/nissan/armada/29229.html)?

anything else?

I honestly don't know what to look for... This is what the steering rack looks like and you can see quite abit of it to check for obvious cracks, then I'd try to shake everything to check for loosness indicating any worn joints or something but I don't know if that'd actually find a problem or not.

Yeah, I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the main drive shaft. I had the u joints replaced and hi speed balance done and all is great....
