Well, I finally got the Doug Thorleys installed, and WOW what a difference in sound and performance, have to do some data logging runs to send to uprev. I did not do them myself but had them professionally installed. Also, I knew one of the manifolds were cracked, but to my surprise, both were cracked.
I installed free flowing Magnaflow cats into the stock Y pipe. Final plans will be a complete new exhaust, 2 1/4 cat back into a 2 1/4 - 3 flowmaster y collector, with a 22" magnaflow and 3" pipe all the way back.

Yeah 9ball, took time to get them in. Economy had a lot to do with it. In the process of getting my shop up and running, doing custom interiors.

Well right now I was looking at a place in queens but the place was way to small and they wanted to much money for it and had no lift. Anything on the interiors, painting, new carpeting new head covers. I am actually working on my truck now doing it little by little, using it as an advertising piece to generate business. In the process of redoing my headliner in black suede, then getting new leather skins for my seats in black leather with red piping and custom headrest with nismo stiched in.

So is this the way to go with the headers? I've had an engine tick for a bit now an the shop called today and said it's the passenger side manifold.They were jus calling to price it up through Nissan so i don't know the cost of that until i get there.Would it be better to scrap the stock manifolds an go this route? I really don't know too much about exhaust systems so any help would be appreciated.Thanks

Definatly the way to go!! Doug Thorley Long Tubes $600-$650 Install roughly 8 hours (depending on your shop, $75 hour). They will bolt right up (most of the time). Or Cats (hi-flow), and exhust of your choice. Your will need a tune, UpRev preferable $500 (Osiris), and a few days (weeks) to dial the tune in.

So would i need this all at once?Or just the headers and uprev to start off with?I'm on a limited budget for a bit.Also is this a really loud exhaust?

You can get away with just the headers for a short time, but need to watch your AFR. If it's to lean could case some problems.
Not to loud, but has a drone I'm trying to work on. I might try the Zoomer tip that I took off, but the Fun-O-Meter peaks when you mash on the gas!!

To better answer your question

1. How many miles are on your truck, if under 80,000 then Nissan will change them at no cost to you, since it is part of the emission warranty, but they will put back on stock manifolds, or you can try to see if they will install the headers at no labor cost, with you purchasing the headers.

2. You can get headers installed with hi-flow cats, and not worry about your AFR's until you get uprev, just make sure you stay of the gas until you get it tuned. Uprev will run you about 400-500. Or you can take it to tuning shop that uses uprev and they can tune you for 375-500. Any other questions, let me know.

Also, before my headers were installed, I was running pig rich cause of the leak in the manifolds, I recently checked my AFR's and they are close to normal. I had to reset my learned fuel curve and ECU so it could learn how to consume fuel after the header install.

Lol so i have no clue what AFR is.Can't really say i know all that much.Pretty much just been a bring it to the shop guy an let them look after stuff.Might be simple but i still don't know.But they priced up the manifold at 589 er so an with the labour said like $1000 dollar job.So probably am better off this way even if it cost a few extra dollars.And my truck has 176k on it

AFR= air fuel ratio.

Do you plan on keeping the truck long? If you do, then get the headers, you wont regret it. For that amount you can get the headers, and have your truck running better.

No problem soulbrother, but keep in mind, since you live in Cali you will have to get the jba short headers, wutg two sets of b-pipes, one with your stock cats am the other with some hi flo cats so you can pass the visual inspection.
