What's up guys. Well my new project for my Mada is going to be installing LED's into my mirrors. Into the actual mirror and not those cheap stick on ones. I am gonna have to take off my mirror and take the chrome film off and everything. I don't have the LE Mada so my SE did not come with them. Has anyone else done this, and if so, is it a big pain in the a$$ or is it just time consuming??
I still want to do it but I am just curious.

Heres a picture of the ones I am ordering
http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae165/skullcandy071/arrowsmd_02.jpg

And they are legal cuz you only see the dots

Someone over at clubtitan.org did it iirc. He use a sander bit on a drill to clear away the mirror film in perfect little circles. In the array of the arrow.

Well I was looking at a website and I also asked the seller I am buying these from and he said I can use either a heat gun or a hair dryer to make the glue that they used to make it stick, well to heat it up. So that it is easier to pull back. But if that does not work then I will go with what you said

Haha ok. Well I went ahead and took the pillar cover off in the inside of my armada. It is stuck on with like a glue so just pry it off but gently. Once I did that I took all four screws holding the mirror in place to the door off. Then I took the mirror off but there is a cable attached off course and well I held the mirror. I did not want to take the door panel off to unplug the mirror so I just held it. I popped off the actual mirror and seen that there were I believe 4 screws holding the actuator in place so that it moves the mirror. I took those screws off and there was a cover on it so that was also taken off. Then i went back to the actual mirror and I used a hairdryer to heat the mirror and take the cover off first. It is glued on. Then once the cover was off I heated it up again and peeled back the actual film. This is very tricky and you can rip the film very easy. So be careful. Then I went ahead and placed the turn signals I bough on it and used the double sided tape that came with it and placed it on. Then I put the film back on over and made sure the wire creeps along the bottom of the mirror and heated the mirror back up so it would stick. So once that was done I held the mirror up to the housing and fed the wire through the opening. Then I put the covers and everything back on. Thats all I have done so far because I have not gotten any wire that extends it so that it will reach the fuse box. I will try to take pictures once I have finally wired it and everything.
Sorry you guys for the wait

Hello Armada Brothers - question - i am doing this installation as well - i want to combine these mirror's light to work with the turn siganl, Hazar lights and or brake light as well "COMBINED"- Any one can tell me how to make this possible. Do I need to use a diode for each source "turn signals, hazar and brake lights) for each side? or please advice. If you know the wiring colors for the turn signals for each side please let me know.

Thanks so much brothers.

Well my plan is to wire them to my fuse box for the turn signals. And once that is done it will work for the hazards as well I really dont know why you would want them to work with the brake lights as well because it will look odd when you brake and your mirror turn signal illuminates.
If I cant wire mine to the fuse box then I am gonna wire them to the rear turn signal.
The rear turn signal is the easiest but you would have to run it under the weather striping or under the carpet along the door on both sides.
I hope this helps

Hello Armada brother and thanks to Skullcandy071 - I finished this project and it looks great better than factory. It has the two functions combined together the left and right turn signal with the hazard lights. I also added a back led to each mirror inside on the back of the actual mirror to light the inside housing of the mirror. Also, I added a puddle light to this and ..... The wires for the left "driver side" turn signal is a dark green with a black stripe and the wire for the right side "passanger side" is light green with a yellow stripe. These wire are under the dash on the bottom down corner of each side. You need to remove the little left and right panel that look like an L or a gray fat boot. you look for those color wire use a tester - ground one side and tap it with the other and insert the key and turn the signal on either left or right. I live In South Central Los Angeles. Thanks brother.

thank you - Yes i put leds to all the air vents, they looks great. That's the front emblem that goes in the middle of the grill. I will put some strop lights in the front as well. Of course not for driving but only when I want my Amada to look great. I will do it next week. I am planing on putting some 26" inches chrome wheels as well.

Hello Armadabrother, I hope you are doing great! Process is very simple - Step by step
Remove front door handle
dig two (2) holes to door handle - One vertical and one horizontal
Put the wire with the light from outside to the inside
Insert the cables first from outside to the inside and take out at the right side of the handle
Push the light in
make sure light is secure
prepare to insert the handle
insert the cables first
put the handle back to the door
pull the wire of the light door handle
I connected to the puddle lights or courtesy light

I will put pictures tonight.
Thanks

That looks really clean and nice. It looks really good. I think I might just do the same to mine but I might go with a white LED.

Quick question about your turn signals in your mirrors. I believe you installed those yourself like I did but I was wondering if you could take a picture of them off in the day time and them blinking in the day time to. I wanted to compare how mine and yours are.
Thanks
